Venezuelan League: Games of November 28


LARA 7, ZULIA 4 IN ZULIA

Twins:  Darin Mastoianni (Zulia) was 0-for-4 and scored once.
Game summary:  Lara scored three in the ninth to break a 4-4 tie.  Luis Jimenez hit a two-run homer in the inning.
Lara:  Guillermo Quiroz (San Francisco) was 3-for-3 with an RBI.  Jimenez was 2-for-5 and scored twice.
Zulia:  Ernesto Mejia (Atlanta) was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Jose Flores was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

ANZOATEGUI 7, CARACAS 4 IN CARACAS

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Game summary:  Anzoategui led all the way, building a 6-1 lead after five innings.
Anzoategui:  Yadel Marti gave up two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five in six innings.  Jose Casillo was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer.
Caracas:  Jesus Guzman (San Diego) was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Franklin Gutierrez (Seattle) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring three times.

ARAGUA 9, MAGALLANES 1 IN ARAGUA

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 3-for-4 with a triple, scoring twice and driving in one.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) worked 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing only a walk while striking out two.
Game summary:  Aragua led 4-1 after three and 6-1 after five.
Magallanes:  Amalio Diaz struck out two in two perfect innings.  Endy Chavez was 2-for-4.
Aragua:  Carlos Hernandez (Oakland) struck out five in 5.2 innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks.  Guillermo Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

LA GUAIRA 6, MARGARITA 3 IN MARGARITA

Twins:  Shairon Martis (La Guaira) started and struck out five in four innings.  He also surrendered three runs on five hits and a walk.
Game summary:  La Guaira scored four runs in the first.  The closest it got was 5-3 in the fourth.
La Guaira:  Rafael Ortega (Colorado) was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk, scoring twice.  Cesar Suarez was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Margarita:  Henry Blanco was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, and two RBIs.  Cesar Hernandez (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with a walk.
