AFL Games of November 14


SALT RIVER 6, PEORIA 4 IN SALT RIVER

Twins:  Nate Roberts was 2-for-5 with a homer, driving in two.  Kyle Gibson started and went 3.1 innings, surrendering three runs on five hits, two walks, one hit batsman, and a wild pitch while striking out four.  Michael Tonkin yielded three runs on a hit, a walk, and two hit batsmen in one inning.
Game summary:  Salt River scored three in the fourth and three in the fifth to take a 6-2 lead.  Peoria scored single runs in the seventh and eighth to make the score closer.
Peoria:  Tommy Joseph (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Stefen Romero (Seattle) homered and walked.
Salt River:  Corey Dickerson (Colorado) was 4-for-4 with a triple, scoring twice and driving in two.  Chase Anderson (Arizona) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks in five innings.

PHOENIX 7, SURPRISE 0 IN PHOENIX

Game summary:  Phoenix scored two in the sixth to take a 4-0 lead and got three more in the eighth to put the game away.
Surprise:  Colin Walsh (St. Louis) was 1-for-3 with a walk.
Phoenix:  Brian Flynn (Miami) struck out five in 3.1 innings, giving up one hit and three walks.  Cory Brownsten (Atlanta) was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.

SCOTTSDALE 8 MESA 2 IN SCOTTSDALE

Game summary:  Scottsdale scored single runs in each of the first three innings, then went up 5-0 after five and 8-0 after seven.
Mesa:  Nick Castallanos (Detroit) was 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly.
Scottsdale:  Chris Gloor (San Francisco) pitched five shutout innings, allowing two hits and one walk.  Slade Heathcott (Yankees) was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.
