Venezuelan League: Games of November 21


ZULIA 4, ARAGUA 2 IN ARAGUA

Twins:  Darin Mastroianni (Zulia) was 3-for-4 with a double.  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 1-for-3 with a double.
Game summary:  Each team scored two in the first.  Evan Gattis (Atlanta) hit a two-run homer in the sixth.
Zulia:  Ernesto Mejia (Atlanta) was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and scored twice.  Dwayne Pollock struck out six and walked none in seven innings, giving up two runs on three hits.
Aragua:  Hector Gimenez hit a two-run homer.  Victor Moreno struck out two in two shutout innings, allowing two hits.

MAGALLANES 6, MARGARITA 3 IN MAGALLANES

Twins:  Brian Dozier (Margarita) was 1-for-3.  Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) struck out the only man he faced.
Game summary:  Magallanes scored five in the second.  Margarita cut the lead to 5-3 in the sixth.
Margarita:  Leonardo Astorga allowed a hit and a walk in 3.2 scoreless innings of relief.  Rene Reyes was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, driving in three.
Magallanes:  Jose Altuve (Houston) and Juan Rivera were each 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

LARA 10, LA GUAIRA 3 IN LA GUAIRA

Twins:  Shairon Martis (La Guaira) made his debut, surrendering five runs on six hits and no walks in three innings.
Game summary:  Lara led 5-0 after three and 8-1 after five.
Lara:  Brian Sweeney allowed one run on seven hits and no walks in five innings.  Jairo Perez was 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.
La Guaira:  Salvador Perez (Kansas City) and Alex Cabrera were each 2-for-4 with a double.

CARACAS 3, ANZOATEGUI 2 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 0-for-2 with a walk.
Game summary:  Anzoategui scored two in the seventh to cut the lead to 3-2 and got the tying run into scoring position in both the eighth and the ninth.
Caracas:  Sean Gallagher worked five shutout innings, allowing one hit and two walks.  Franklin Gutierrez (Seattle) was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk.
Anzoategui:  Gustavo Molina was 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run homer.  Alex Serrano struck out two in two perfect innings.
