Venezuelan League: Games of November 13


MAGALLANES 3, ARAGUA 2 IN MAGALLANES (14 INNINGS)

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 1-for-6.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) pitched a scoreless inning despite allowing two hits and a walk.
Game summary:  Mario Lisson walked, stole second, stole third, and scored on a throwing error to win the game in the fourteenth.
Aragua:  Yohan Pino allowed no hits and no walks while striking out three in three innings.  Jose Martinez (Houston) was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
Magallanes:  Juan Rincon struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  Leslie Anderson (Tampa Bay) was 3-for-4.

ANZOATEGUI 2, LA GUAIRA 1 IN LA GUAIRA (15 INNINGS)

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was used as a reserve and was 1-for-4.  Bruce Pugh (Anzoategui) walked one and struck out one, allowing no hits and no runs, in two-thirds of an inning.
Game summary:  An RBI single by Luis Nunez brought home the winning run in the fifteenth.
Anzoategui:  Reynel Pinto worked six innings, allowing an unearned run on two hits and three walks.  Jose Castillo was 2-for-5 with two walks and an RBI.
La Guaira:  Eduardo Figueroa (Cubs) pitched five shutout innings, giving up only one hit and one walk.  Darin Ruf (Philadelphia) was 2-for-7 with two doubles and an RBI.

LARA 9, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA

Twins:  Sean Burroughs (Margarita) was 3-for-3 with a walk and a run.
Game summary:  Lara scored five in the first and four in the eighth.
Lara:  Jairo Perez was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in three.  Joe Thurston was 3-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.
Margarita:  Javier Brito was 3-for-4 with an RBI.  Leonardo Astorga threw two shutout innings, allowing three hits.

CARACAS 7, ZULIA 3 IN ZULIA

Game summary:  Caracas scored four in the ninth to break a 3-3 tie.
Caracas:  Yoanner Negrin (Cubs) gave up one run on six hits and three walks in five innings.  Darren Ford (Pittsburgh) was 4-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.
Zulia:  Alexander Torres struck out six in six innings, giving up one run on three hits and four walks.  Freddy Galvis (Philadelphia) was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.
