Venezuelan League: Games of November 22


ANZOATEGUI 8, CARACAS 1 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 3-for-3 with a walk and two home runs, driving in six.  Bruce Pugh (Anzoategui) pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout.
Game summary:  Anzoategui scored four in the sixth to take a 6-0 lead.
Caracas:  Josh Kroeger was 3-for-3 with a walk.  Raul Padron was 2-for-4 with a home run.
Anzoategui:  Ramon A. Ramirez pitched 6.1 innings, giving up one run on six hits and three walks while striking out five. Jose Castillo was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

ZULIA 8, MAGALLANES 6 IN MAGALLANES (13 INNINGS)

Twins:  Darin Mastroianni (Zulia) was 1-for-6 and scored once.  Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) pitched three perfect innings with three strikeouts.
Game summary:  Magallanes scored in the ninth to tie, but Freddy Galvis (Philadelphia) hit a two-run homer in the thirteenth for Zulia.
Zulia:  Henry Rodriguez (Cincinnati) was 3-for-6 with a walk and scored once.  Galvis was 2-for-6 and scored twice.
Magallanes:  Ezequiel Carrera (Cleveland) was 4-for-6 with a double, a walk, and a two-run homer.  Carlos Maldonado (Washington) was 1-for-4 with a home run and three walks.

ARAGUA 6, MARGARITA 5 IN ARAGUA

Twins:  Brian Dozier (Margarita) was 1-for-4 with an RBI.  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-3.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) allowed a run on a hit and two walks in 1.1 innings.
Game summary:  Aragua scored four in the fifth to take a 6-4 lead.
Margarita:  Jonathan Herrera (Colorado) was 3-for-5.  Frank Diaz was 1-for-3 with a homer and a walk.
Aragua:  Alex Romero was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.  Luis Hernandez (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring twice and driving in three.

LARA 8, LA GUAIRA 1 IN LA GUAIRA

Game summary:  Lara led 2-1 after one, then scored two in each of the sixth through eighth innings.
Lara:  Chris Jakubauskas pitched 5.2 innings, allowing one run on five hits and no walks.  Luis Valbuena (Cubs) was 3-for-3 with a walk, a double, and two home runs, scoring twice and driving in five.
La Guaira:  Jose Martinez was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.  C. J. Retherford (Dodgers) was 2-for-4 with a double.
