Venezuelan League: Games of November 18


ZULIA 9, LA GUAIRA 7 IN ZULIA

Twins:  Darin Mastroianni (Zulia) was 2-for-3 with a walk and scored once.
Game summary:  Gerardo Parra (Arizona) hit a two-run walkoff homer with one out.
La Guaira:  Salvador Perez (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a three-run homer.  Darin Ruf (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with a home run.
Zulia:  Parra was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Ernesto Mejia (Atlanta) was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer.

CARACAS 6, ANZOATEGUI 5 IN CARACAS

Twins:  Bruce Pugh (Anzoategui) worked 1.1 scoreless innings despite allowing two hits and a walk.
Game summary:  Caracas scored four in the sixth to tie the score at five.  Luis Rodriguez hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to bring in the go-ahead run in the eighth.
Anzoategui:  Jake Goebbert was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.  Ildemaro Vargas (St. Louis) was 2-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one.
Caracas:  Rodriguez was 3-for-4 and scored once.  Darren Ford (Pittsburgh) was 3-for-5 with a triple, scoring three times and driving in one.

MAGALLANES 5, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA

Twins:  Sean Burroughs (Margarita) was 1-for-3.  Brian Dozier (Margarita) was 1-for-3.  Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) struck out both batters he faced.
Game summary:  Magallanes scored two in the third, one in the fifth, and two in the seventh.  The lone Margarita run came in the ninth.
Magallanes:  Gustavo Chacin allowed four hits and no walks in seven shutout innings.  Jose Altuve (Houston) was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.
Margarita:  Frank Diaz was 2-for-4.

ARAGUA 5, LARA 0 IN ARAGUA

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-4.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) allowed only a walk in 1.2 innings.
Game summary:  Aragua scored in each of innings four through seven.
Lara:  Clevelan Santeliz struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings.
Aragua:  Carlos Hernandez (Oakland) struck out five in 5.1 innings, giving up two hits and two walks.  Hector Gimenez was 2-for-4 with a home run.
