Games of November 29

No Twins, as they just don't have a lot of guys in winter ball this year.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.
LARA 21, ANZOATEGUI 4 IN LARA
Lara scored six in the first and nine in the third on their way to an easy win.  Carlos Rivero was 3-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and four RBIs.  Henry Urrutia was 3-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs.  Alejandro De Aza was 3-for-4 with a double.  Juniel Querecuto was 3-for-6 with a double.  Jesus Montero was 3-for-6.  Raul Rivero pitched five innings, giving up one run on six hits and a walk while striking out one.  For Anzoategui, Luis Jimenez was 3-for-3 with a two-run homer (his seventh) and a double.
MARGARITA 3, CARACAS 1 IN MARGARITA
Francisco Diaz had a two-run single in a three-run second that provided all of Margarita's runs, but it was all they needed.  Jay Gause pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three.  Albert Suarez struck out seven in five innings for Caracas, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks.
ZULIA 8, MAGALLANES 0 IN ZULIA
All eight runs were scored in the third inning.  Reynaldo Rodriguez had a three-run triple in the inning.  Jairo Perez and Hector Gimenez were each 3-for-5.  Rodriguez was 2-for-4.  Logan Duran pitched five shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks while striking out four.
ARAGUA 6, LA GUAIRA 1 IN LA GUAIRA
Leading 2-1, Aragua scored three in the seventh to put the game out of reach.  Francisco Rodriguez pitched five innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks while striking out two.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.
JALISCO 3, HERMOSILLO 1 IN JALISCO
Jalisco scored two in the sixth to take a 2-1 lead.  An RBI single by Japhet Amador tied the score and a single by Donald Dewees, Jr. brought home the lead run.  William Oliver pitched five innings, giving up one run on two hits and four walks while striking out four.  For Hermosillo, Barry Enright pitched five innings, giving up two unearned runs on five hits and no walks while striking out three.
OBREGON 4, NAVOJOA 3 IN OBREGON
With the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth, Yosmany Guerra singled, stole second, and came around to score on a wild-pitch-plus-error to win the game for Obregon.  Justin Greene was 2-for-3.  For Navojoa, Max Ramirez was 3-for-4 with a double.
MEXICALI 6, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN LOS MOCHIS
Mexicali scored three in the second and led all the way.  Leo German was 3-for-4 with a double.  Chris Roberson was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his sixth), a double, and a walk.  Rolando Valdez pitched six shutout innings, giving up five hits while striking out two.
CULIACAN 5, MAZATLAN 0 IN CULIACAN
Josh Fuentes hit a two-run homer in the third and Culiacan led the rest of the way.  Fuentes was 2-for-3 and the home run was his fourth.  Anthony Vasquez struck out nine in seven shutout innings, giving up five hits and two walks.  Fernando Luciano was 3-for-4 for Mazatlan.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.
LICEY 9, ESTRELLAS 2 IN LICEY
Licey scored two in the second, four in the fifth, and three in the sixth to build a 9-0 lead.  Sergio Alcantara was 3-for-3.  Jorge Bonifacio was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double, driving in four.  Mike Marjama hit a three-run homer.  Onelki Garcia pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
TOROS 9, AGUILAS 3 AT TOROS
Jeimer Candelario's two-run single in the fifth broke a 3-3 tie and put the Toros in the lead to stay.  Cristhian Adames was 4-for-5 with a walk and three runs.  Candelario was 3-for-5 with a triple, a walk, and three RBIs.  Raul Valdes pitched a complete game, a rarity in winter ball, striking out eleven while giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk.  Zoilo Almonte was 3-for-4 for the Aguilas.
GIGANTES 7, ESCOGIDO 5 AT GIGANTES
The Gigantes trailed 5-2 after six, but scored three in the seventh to tie it and two in the eighth to take the lead.  Ketel Marte's homer leading off the eighth provided the lead run.  Jose Siri was 3-for-5 with a home run (his second) and two doubles.  Moises Sierra was 3-for-4 with a triple.  For Escogido, Kelvin Marte pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits while striking out one.

No Twins, but some interesting games, including a game-winning single by an ex-Twin.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

ARAGUA 3, ANZOATEGUI 2 IN ARAGUA
Jose Vargas hit a two-run homer in the first to give Aragua a 2-1 lead that they would not give up.  Anzoategui had the tying run on third in the seventh and ninth.  Vargas' homer was his eleventh.  Guillermo Moscoso pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three.  For Anzoategui, Luis Jimenez was 3-for-3 with a home run, his sixth.  Daryl Thompson pitched 6.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out six.
CARACAS 6, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA
Caracas scored three in the second and led the rest of the way.  Trayvon Robinson was 3-for-5 with two doubles.  Henry Alejandro Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Luis Diaz struck out five in five innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  Jose Osuna hit a home run for Margarita.
MAGALLANES 2, ZULIA 1 IN ZULIA
A sacrifice fly in the eighth broke a 1-1 tie and led Magallanes to a win.  Alex Sanabia pitched five innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out three.  For Zulia, Reiner Roibal pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk while striking out two.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.
JALISCO 9, HERMOSILLO 4 IN JALISCO
Hermosillo scored three in the first, but Jalisco came back to take a 5-3 lead and then put the game out of reach with four in the eighth.  Anthony Alford was 3-for-5 with a home run and a triple, scoring three times and driving in four.  Amadeo Zazueta was 3-for-5 with a double.  Octavio Acosta struck out seven in six innings, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk.
OBREGON 5, NAVOJOA 3 IN OBREGON
Trailing 3-1, Obregon scored four in the eighth to win it.  Alex Liddi had a two-run double to bring home the tying and lead runs.  Pablo Ortega pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits while striking out three.
MEXICALI 3, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN LOS MOCHIS
Mexicali scored two in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.  Los Mochis had the tying run on third in the sixth.  Chris Roberson was 3-for-5 to lead Mexicali.  Sergio Mitre struck out eleven in 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on five hits.  Luis Perez pitched five innings for Los Mochis, giving up three runs (one earned) on seven hits while striking out four.
MAZATLAN 6, CULIACAN 5 IN CULIACAN
Mazatlan scored two in the ninth to break a 4-4 tie and then held on to win.  Fernando Luciano was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks to lead Mazatlan.  Andres Ivan Meza pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on four hits while striking out three for Culiacan.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.
ESCOGIDO 6, TOROS 1 IN ESCOGIDO
Leading 3-1, Escogido scored three in the fifth to take control of the game.  Wilkin Castillo had a two-run single in the inning.  Mike Mayers struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on just one hit and one walk.
ESTRELLAS 3, GIGANTES 2 AT ESTRELLAS (11 INNINGS)
Angelo Mora's infield single with two out in the bottom of the eleventh brought home the winning run.  Mora was 3-for-5.  Lisalverto Bonilla pitched 4.2 innings, giving up one run on four hits while striking out two.  For the Gigantes, Colt Hynes pitched five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out one.
AGUILAS 2, LICEY 1 AT AGUILAS
Danny Santana's RBI single with one out in the bottom of the ninth brought home the winning run.  Johan Camargo was 3-for-4.  Jorge Lopez pitched seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk while striking out four.  For Licey, Ariel Pena struck out five in 4.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and two walks.

Games of November 27

No Twins played on a light day of winter baseball.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

LARA 10, LA GUAIRA 4 IN LA GUAIRA
Twins:  None.
Lara scored two in the first, three in the third, three in the fourth, and eventually built a 10-0 lead before La Guaira got on the borad with four in the eighth.  Chuck Taylor was 4-for-5 with a home run (his second) and six RBIs.  Rangel Ravelo was 3-for-4.  Williams Perez struck out six in six innings, giving up three hits and four walks.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

No games scheduled.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.
ESCOGIDO 6, AGUILAS 2 IN ESCOGIDO
Ronny Paulino had a two-run single in a three-run second that put Escogido ahead 5-2.  Paulino was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Escogido had five innings of scoreless relief and the Aguilas had 5.2 innings of scoreless relief.
ESTRELLAS 6, TOROS 2 AT ESTRELLAS
Frank Schwindel's two-run single in the fifth gave the Estrellas a 4-1 lead.  Gustavo Nunez was 3-for-3 with two triples and three runs.  Gabriel Guerrero was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.  Nik Turley struck out four in three innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk.

Twins:  Anderson Munoz (Zulia) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and two walks while striking out two.
LARA 9, CARACAS 3 IN CARACAS
Gustavo Molina hit a grand slam in the ninth to break a 2-2 tie.  Lara went on to score three more in the inning.  Carlos Rivero also hit a home run, his third.  Nestor Molina pitched six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits while striking out three.  Wilfredo Tovar was 3-for-4 for Caracas.  Albert Cordero was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.
MAGALLANES 5, MARGARITA 0 IN MAGALLANES
Magallanes scored four in the second and one in the third.  Frankie De La Cruz struck out six in six innings, giving up two hits and one walk.
ZULIA 8, ANZOATEGUI 7 IN ANZOATEGUI
Zulia scored five in the third to take a 7-5 lead and led the rest of the way.  Carlos Moncrief was 3-for-5 with two doubles.  For Anzoategui, Balbino Fuenmayor was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fifth) and a double, driving in three.

Trailing 6-4 after eight, La Guaira scored seven in the ninth to win.  Jose Castillo was 3-for-5 with a walk and three runs.  Teodoro Martinez was 3-for-6.  Rey Navarro was 3-for-3 for Aragua.

Obregon scored three in the eighth to break a 2-2 tie.  Alex Liddi was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.  David Reyes pitched seven innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out three.
HERMOSILLO 5, LOS MOCHIS 4 IN HERMOSILLO
Jose Amador was hit by a pitch with two out and the bases loaded in the ninth to bring home the winning run.  Amador hit a home run (his fourth) and had three RBIs.
CULIACAN 8, NAVOJOA 0 IN NAVOJOA
Culiacan scored four in the third and was never threatened.  Joey Meneses was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fifth) and a double, driving in three.  Sebastian Elizalde was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs.  Amilcar Gaxiola pitched 4.2 scoreless innings, giving up five hits and two walks while striking out two.
MAZATLAN 2, JALISCO 1 IN MAZATLAN
Back-to-back doubles by Jesus Fabela and Carlos Munoz brought home the lead run in the seventh.  Roy Merritt pitched five innings, giving up one run on seven hits and one walk while striking out three.  Daniel Guerrero pitched 5.1 innings for Jalisco, giving up an unearned run on three hits while striking out four.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Adalberto Mejia (Gigantes) struck out six in five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and one walk.

Miguel Gomez delivered a two-run single in the ninth to bring home the tying and lead runs.  Ronny Paulino was 4-for-5 for Escogido.  Franchy Cordero was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, his third.

Estrellas scored two in the third, four in the fifth, and two in the soxth.  Audy Ciriaco hit a three-run homer in the fifth.  Radhames Liz pitched seven shutout innings, giving up two hits while striking out five.
GIGANTES 7, TOROS 4 AT GIGANTES
Trailing 2-0, the Gigantes scored three in the second, two in the third, and two in the fourth to build a 7-2 lead.  Aderlin Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fourth.  Jefry Marte was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double for the Toros.  Alexi Casilla was 3-for-4 with a home run.  Sean Halton was 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Aaron Whitefield (Brisbane) was 2-for-4 with a double.  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 1-for-4.

Delmon Young doubled home a run in the first inning and that was it for the scoring.  Josh Tols struck out six in four shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks.  Christian Meister struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up no hits and two walks.  For Adelaide, Greg Mosel struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks.
CANBERRA 15, SYDNEY 7 IN CANBERRA
Canberra scored ten in the second and eventually lead 15-1 before Sydney scored some late runs to make the final score look better.  Boss Moanaroa was 3-for-4 with two home runs (his second and third) and a walk, driving in six.  Jay Baum was 2-for-3 with a home run and two walks, scoring three times.  Buddy Reed hit a grand slam.  Frank Gailey struck out nine in seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk.  For Sydney, Michael Suchy was 3-for-5 with a home run (his second) and three RBIs.
PERTH 11, BRISBANE 6 IN PERTH
Perth scored six in the first and led all the way.  Jake Fraley was 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs.  Tim Kennelly was 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs.  Alex Hall hit a two-run homer.  Mitch Nilsson hit a two-run homer, his third, for Brisbane.

MAGALLANES 8, MARGARITA 7 IN MAGALLANES
Trailing 7-4 through eight, Magallanes scored four in the ninth to win the game.  Mario Lisson's RBI double brought home the winning run.  For Margarita, Mauricio Ramos was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk.  Cade Gotta was 1-for-2 with three walks.
ARAGUA 5, CARACAS 2 IN ARAGUA
Aragua scored four in the sixth to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead and eventual win.  Rey Navarro's two-run double brought home the tying and go-ahead runs.  Wil Ledezma pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on one hit and four walks while striking out four.  Caracas had only two hits.  Efrain Nieves pitched 4.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks while striking out two.
LA GUAIRA 8, LARA 6 IN LA GUAIRA
Lara scored three in the top of the eighth to tie it 6-6, but La Guaira scored two in the bottom of the eighth to win the game.  Arvicent Perez was 3-for-4 to lead La Guaira.  Elvis Escobar was 4-for-4 for Lara.
ANZOATEGUI 8, ZULIA 7 IN ANZOATEGUI
Anzoategui led 5-1, 6-4, and 7-6, but needed a run in the bottom of the ninth to pull out the win.  Tomas Telis hit a walkoff home run leading off the bottom of the ninth.  Telis was 2-for-5 with two home runs (his second and third) and scored three times.  Rene Reyes hit a three-run homer, his third.  For Zulia, David Vidal was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, his eighth.  Hector Gimenez was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his fifth) and a walk.

Leading 2-1, Los Mochis scored three in the seventh to put the game out of reach.  Noel Cuevas was 3-for-5 with a triple.  Michael Wing was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.  Luis Niebla struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up four hits and three walks.
MAZATLAN 4, JALISCO 3 IN MAZATLAN
Mazatlan trailed 3-1 after seven but scored three in the eighth to win.  Carlos Munoz' two-run double brought home the tying and go-ahead runs.  Dustin Crenshaw pitched six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out four.  For Jalisco, Anthony Alford was 3-for-5 with a double and Manny Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a home run, his seventh.  Kyle Lloyd pitched six innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits while striking out three.
MEXICALI 7, OBREGON 1 IN MEXICALI
Mexicali scored four in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead, which was more than enough runs.  Chris Roberson was 2-for-5 with a home run (his fifth) and three RBIs.  Justin DeFratus pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits and two walks while striking out two.
NAVOJOA 4, CULIACAN 3 IN NAVOJOA
Paul Leon homered leading off the fifth to break a 3-3 tie.  It was Leon's second homer of the season.  Raul Carrillo pitched six innings, giving up three runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out one.  For Culiacan, Edgar Gonzalez pitched seven innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits while striking out three.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Leading 4-0, Licey scored four in the eighth to put the game away.  Jair Jurrjens pitched six shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk while striking out two.  The Gigantes had only two hits.
TOROS 7, ESTRELLAS 3 AT TOROS
The Toros scored two in the sixth to break a 3-3 tie, then added two more in the eighth.  Sean Halton was 3-for-4 with a triple and a double, driving in four.  Jeimer Candelario was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk.  Jake Buchanan pitched four innings, giving up one run on three hits while striking out one.
AGUILAS 5, ESCOGIDO 1 AT AGUILAS
A three-run third put the Aguilas up 4-0 and in control of the game.  Rey Fuentes was 3-for-4.  Yunesky Maya struck out seven in six shutout innings, giving up two hits.

Twins:  Aaron Whitefield (Brisbane) was 5-for-10 with a home run, a double, and a walk, scoring five times.  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 3-for-8 with a double and a walk.
BRISBANE 12, PERTH 5 IN PERTH (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)
Brisbane scored seven in the second to go ahead 8-0.  Whitefield was 4-for-5 with a home run and a double, scoring three times.  Mitch Nilsson was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk, driving in three.  Donald Lutz was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer, his second.  Tim Atherton struck out seven in five innings, giving up two runs on three hits and five walks.  For Perth, Ryan Brosseau was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his second.  Ryan Kitt hit a home run, his second.
BRISBANE 13, PERTH 3 IN PERTH (GAME 2)
Brisbane led 3-2 after seven when they came up with another seven-run inning to put the game away.  Mitch Nilsson was 4-for-5 with a home run (his second) and two doubles, driving in five.  Andrew Campbell was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a walk, scoring three times.  Travis Blackley struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on four hits.  For Perth, Tim Kennelly was 3-for-5 with a double.
SYDNEY 8, CANBERRA 2 IN SYDNEY
Sydney scored five in the sixth to take a 6-0 lead.  Trent D'Antonio was 4-for-5 with a home run.  Chih-Hsien Chiang was 2-for-5 with two home runs (his third and fourth) and three RBIs.  Clayton Freimuth pitched 6.2 innings, giving up one run on two hits and five walks while striking out three.  Boss Moanaroa hit a home run for Canberra.
ADELAIDE 6, MELBOURNE 2 IN ADELAIDE
Adelaide scored two in the fourth to take a 3-2 lead and led the rest of the way.  Bas Nooij drove in the tying run with a double and Nathan VanDerLinden drove home the go-ahead run with a single.  Rodrigo Ayarza was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a double.  Chris Powell pitched six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four.

Yandy Diaz hit a grand slam in the fifth to break a 3-3 tie.  Diaz was 2-for-3 and also had a double and a walk.  David Vidal was 3-for-4 for Zulia and Jairo Perez was 3-for-5.
MAGALLANES 5, MARGARITA 2 IN MAGALLANES
Magallanes scored one in the first, two in the second, and two in the third to build a 5-0 lead.  Juan Apodaca was 3-for-4 with a home run.  Mario Lisson hit a home run, his fifth, and Jesus Sucre hit a home run, his first.  Jesus Tinoco pitched five innings, giving up one run on four hits and three walks while striking out two.  For Margarita, Daniel Mayora was 2-for-4 with a home run and Cade Gotta also hit a home run.

Jeremias Pineda tripled and scored in the third inning for the game's only run.  Mitch Lively struck out nine in eight shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  For Jalisco, Tyler Alexander struck out eight in eight innings, giving up one run on four hits.

Engel Beltre hit a two-run homer in the second to give Licey a 2-0 lead and they led the rest of the way.  It was his fourth home run of the season.  Yermin Mercedes was 3-for-4.  Onelki Garcia pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and two walks while striking out five.  Magneuris Sierra hit a home run for the Toros.  Raul Valdes struck out seven in 6.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks.
AGUILAS 7, GIGANTES 0 AT GIGANTES
Johan Camargo hit a two-run double in a four-run third that put the Aguilas ahead 5-0.  Camargo was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.  Ray Fuentes also hit a home run.  Roenis Elias pitched six shutout innings, giving up two hits and three walks while striking out three.
ESCOGIDO 4, ESTRELLAS 3 AT ESTRELLAS
Escogido scored two in the eighth to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 lead.  Franchy Cordero was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.

Twins:  Aaron Whitefield (Brisbane) was 1-for-5 with a walk.  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 1-for-4 with two walks.

David Kandilas hit a grand slam in the fifth, providing all the runs of the game.  Kandilas was 3-for-4 and the home run was his third of the season.  Lake Bachar pitched six shutout innings, giving up seven hits while striking out three.
MELBOURNE 6, ADELAIDE 0 IN ADELAIDE
Melbourne scored two in the second, two in the fifth, and two in the sixth.  Allan de San Miguel was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, his second.  Delmon Young hit a home run, his second.  Hei Chun Lee struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.
BRISBANE 16, PERTH 9 IN PERTH
Brisbane built a 6-0 lead, had it cut to 6-5, but scored seven in the seventh to put the game out of reach.  T. J. Bennett hit a home run, his third.  Donald Lutz hit a three-run homer.  For Perth, Jake Fraley was 3-for-5 with two doubles.

Margarita scored five in the fourth to break a 2-2 tie.  Francisco Diaz had a two-run single in the inning.  For Lara, Juniel Querecuto was 3-for-4 with a double.

La Guaira scored three in the eighth to break a 4-4 tie.  Miguel Gonzalez brought home the go-ahead runs with a two-run single.  Alonzo Harris was 3-for-5.  For Anzoategui, Luis Jimenez was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and a double.  Cesar Valera hit a home run, his second.

Culiacan scored one in the third, but Hermosillo got five in the fourth and never looked back.  Fernando Perez was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer (his seventh), two doubles, and two walks, driving in five.  Alejandro Flores was 3-for-5 with two doubles.  Barry Enright pitched 5.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks while striking out five.

Sydney led 4-1 after six, but Canberra got two in the seventh and one in the eighth to tie it up.  The Australian League uses a "start the inning with men on first and second" extra inning rule.  Jay Baum singled home the go-ahead run in the bottom of the tenth.  Connor Panas was 3-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a triple.  Kyle Perkins hit a home run, his second.  Robbie Perkins was 3-for-4.  For Sydney, Jacob Younis was 3-for-4 with a double and Chih-Hsien Chiang hit a two-run homer, his second.
MELBOURNE 8, ADELAIDE 6 IN ADELAIDE
Melbourne trailed 5-4 through seven, but Jared Cruz hit a three-run homer in the eighth to go into the lead to stay.  It was his second homer of the season.  Delmon Young was 2-for-5 with a home run.  For Adelaide, Stephen Lohr and Tai-San Chang were each 3-for-5 with a double.

Culiacan scored three in the first and that was all the runs they needed.  Anthony Vasquez pitched 7.2 innings, giving up one run on six hits and two walks while striking out six.  For Hermosillo, Ryan Verdugo pitched six innings, giving up three unearned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two.
MAZATLAN 4, NAVOJOA 3 IN MAZATLAN  (11 INNINGS)
Esteban Quiroz' RBI single brought home the winning run.  Oscar Verdugo pitched six innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out two.  For Navojoa, Tyler Kane pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and four walks.
JALISCO 9, MEXICALI 2 IN MEXICALI
Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a two-run double in a four-run third that gave jalisco all the runs they needed.  Manny Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with four RBIs.  Amadeo Zazueta was 3-for-6.  Octavio Acosta struck out seven in seven innings, giving up two runs on eight hits and no walks.

Two Twins pitchers had good games.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Anderson Munoz (Zulia) pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two walks.
ARAGUA 6, ZULIA 5 IN ARAGUA
Aragua trailed 4-0 after five, cut it to 4-2 after seven, and scored four in the eighth to win.  Wuilmer Becerra had a three-run single-plus-error to bring in the tying and go-ahead runs.  Zulia scored one in the ninth and had the bases loaded with two out.  Jose Vargas was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk to lead Aragua.  For Zulia, David Vidal was 2-for-4 with a home run, his seventh.  Ex-Twin Shairon Martis pitched four shutout innings for Zulia, giving up one hit and two walks while striking out one.
CARACAS 6, LA GUAIRA 5 IN LA GUAIRA
Caracas trailed 2-0, led 3-2, trailed 4-3, and finally scored three in the seventh to go into the lead to stay.  Yandy Diaz was 3-for-3 with a walk.  Felix Perez was 1-for-4 with a home run, his fifth, and three RBIs.  For La Guaira, Teodoro Martinez was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk and scored three times.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

OBREGON 1, LOS MOCHIS 0 IN OBREGON
The lone run scored in the sixth on a squeeze bunt by Eduardo Arredondo.  Alex Liddi was 3-for-4 with a double.  David Reyes pitched six shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out one.  For Los Mochis, Akeem Bostick struck out seven in five shutout innings, giving up five hits and a walk.
HERMOSILLO 5, CULIACAN 3 IN CULIACAN
Culiacan got all its runs in the first inning.  Hermosillo cut the lead to 3-2 after five and scored three in the sixth to win.  The go-ahead run scored on an error.  Roberto Ramos hit a home run, his third.  For Culiacan, Andres Ivan Meza pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two.
MAZATLAN 3, NAVOJOA 2 IN MAZATLAN
Trailing 2-1, Mazatlan scored two in the fifth and held on to win.  An RBI single by Esteban Quiroz brought home the go-ahead run.  Jesus Fabela was 3-for-4.  Roy Merritt pitched 3.1 scoreless innings of relief, giving up one hit and striking out three.  Randy Arozarena hit a home run for Navojoa, his eighth.
MEXICALI 5, JALISCO 2 IN MEXICALI
Mexicali scored two in the second and led the rest of the way.  C. J. Retherford was 2-for-3 with a home run (his sixth) and a walk.  Javier Solano pitched 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five.  Anthony Alford was 3-for-4 for Jalisco.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Adalberto Mejia (Gigantes) pitched five innings, giving up one run on four hits and three walks while striking out none.
AGUILAS 9, LICEY 5 IN LICEY
Already leading 4-1, the Aguilas scored four in the fifth to put the game out of reach.  Zoilo Almonte was 4-for-5.  Edwin Espinal was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, and three runs.  Johan Camargo was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs.  Jorge Lopez pitched 5.2 innings, giving up an unearned run on six hits and one walk while striking out one.  For Licey, Julio Borbon was 3-for-5 with a double.
GIGANTES 9, ESTRELLAS 4 AT GIGANTES
Already leading 4-2, the Gigantes scored five in the eighth to put the game out of reach.  Aderlin Rodriguez hit a home run, his third.  Ketel Marte was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and three RBIs.  Orlando Calixte hit a two-run homer for the Estrellas.
ESCOGIDO 8, TOROS 2 AT TOROS
Escogido scored one in the second, three in the third, and four in the sixth to build an 8-0 lead.  Ryan Court was 3-for-5.  Adalberto Flores struck out six in five shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.  For the Toros, Cory Riordan pitched three perfect innings of relief.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

LARA 8, ANZOATEGUI 2 IN LARA
Twins:  None.
Jesus Montero hit a two-run single in a five-run fourth that put Lara up 7-0.  Montero was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.  Nestor Molina pitched six shutout innings, giving up four hits while striking out two.  For Anzoategui, Willians Astudillo was 2-for-3 with a home run (his second) and a walk.
MARGARITA 6, MAGALLANES 4 IN MARGARITA
Imeldo Diaz had a two-run triple in a three-run second that put Margarita in the lead to stay.  They led 5-0 before Magallanes came back to cut the lead to 5-4 in the seventh.  Margarita got an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh.  Ex-Twin Logan Darnell pitched six innings, giving up one run on eight hits and two walks while striking out three.  For Magallanes, Luis Torrens was 3-for-4 with a double and Mario LIsson was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, his third.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.
NORTH ALL-STARS 3, SOUTH ALL-STARS 1
The North scored one on a sacrifice fly in the fourth.  In the seventh, Jose Amador homered and Alan Sanchez tripled and scored on an Alejandro Flores single.  The lone South run came on consecutive one-out singles by Yadir Drake, Joey Meneses, and Amadeo Zazueta.  Xorge Carrillo was 2-for-2 for the North.  Zazueta was 2-for-2 for the South.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  David Hurlbut (Licey) struck out seven in six innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  T. J. White (Gigantes) was 0-for-2.
LICEY 3, GIGANTES 1 AT GIGANTES
A sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded walk broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh.  Licey had only three hits but drew six walks.  One of the hits was a home run by Yermin Mercedes.  Hurlbut was the pitching star, as detailed above.  For the Gigantes, Patrick Johnson struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on one hit and one walk.
