Key inning:  The first.  The River Bandits scored twelve runs on ten hits, a walk, and a hit batsman.  The first ten batters of the inning reached base.  All the damage was done off Tim Shibuya, who lasted two-thirds of an inning.
Other:  One has to wonder if Shibuya could be hiding an injury.  He’d been really good through May 15, when he threw a complete game, three hit shutout.  He’s been terrible since.  This is, of course, pure speculation.

Other:  Each team hit three home runs.  For Beloit, it was Roberts, Miguel Sano, and Eddie Rosario and for the Cougars it was Adams, Bonifacio, and Daniel Mateo.  All were solo shots except for the one hit by Roberts...Sano has homered in consecutive games, but they’re the only hits he has in those games (2-for-12)…The Snappers opened the game with a triple by Wang-wei Lin and homers by Roberts and Rosario, taking a 3-0 lead before anyone was retired.

Other:  The description of Sano’s steal of home is less than clear, but it appears that with runners on first and third and a 3-2 count on the batter, the runner took off from first.  The pitch was ball four, but the catcher threw to second anyway, and Sano came home…Steve Bedrosian’s son Cameron started for the Kernels, but did not do well, allowing four runs on two hits and three walks in two-thirds of an inning.  For the season, he is 0-4, 6.35.
