Mexican League: Games of November 18


CULIACAN 5, GUASAVE 4 IN CULIACAN

Twins:  Chris Colabello (Guasave) was 0-for-3 with a walk.
Game summary:  Culiacan scored three in the first and led all the way.  Guasave closed to 5-4 in the eighth but never got the tying run past first base.
Guasave:  Japhet Amador was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Gabriel Gutierrez was 2-for-2.
Culiacan:  Francisco Campos allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out five in five innings.  Marlon Byrd was 2-for-4 with a home run and scored twice.

MAZATLAN 5, MEXICALI 1 IN MAZATLAN

Twins:  Anthony Slama (Mazatlan) pitched a perfect inning, striking out two.
Game summary:  All the scoring came in the sixth inning.
Mexicali:  Edgar Osuna gave up three hits and no walks in five shutout innings.  Jon Weber hit an RBI double.
Mazatlan:  Humberto Montemayor allowed one run on four hits and two walks in 5.1 innings.  Oswaldo Morejon was 3-for-4 and scored once.

NAVOJOA 8, LOS MOCHIS 5 IN LOS MOCHIS

Game summary:  Navojoa scored four in the sixth to break a 4-4 tie.
Navojoa:  Steve Moss was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Abel Martinez was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.
Los Mochis:  Jamie Johnson (Detroit) was 4-for-5 with a double and scored twice.  Saul Soto was 2-for-5 with a double and a home run, driving in five.

OBREGON 6, HERMOSILLO 3 IN OBREGON

Game summary:  Obregon scored three in the first and never trailed.  Hermosillo closed to 4-3 after six, but Obregon got single runs in the seventh and eighth.
Hermosillo:  Todd Cunningham (Atlanta) was 3-for-4.  Jose Amador walked and hit a two-run homer.
Obregon:  Iker Franco was 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.  Alfredo Amezaga was 2-for-5 and scored once.
