Mexican League: Games of November 29


HERMOSILLO 3, GUASAVE 0 IN GUASAVE

Twins:  Chris Colabello (Guasave) was 1-for-2 with a walk.
Game summary:  Hermosillo scored two in the first and one in the third.
Hermosillo:  Garrett Mock struck out seven in seven innings, giving up only two hits and two walks.  Karim Garcia was 2-for-4 with two home runs, driving in all three runs.
Guasave:  Beau Vaughn struck out four in two shutout innings, allowing only a walk.

MEXICALI 14, NAVOJOA 0 IN MEXICALI

Twins:  Gonzalo Sanudo (Navojoa) pitched one inning, giving up two runs on four hits.
Game summary:  Mexicali scored eight in the third to go ahead 11-0.
Navojoa:  Steve Moss was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.
Mexicali:  David Campillas struck out four in three perfect innings.  Chris Roberson was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring three times and driving in one.

LOS MOCHIS 6, MAZATLAN 4 IN MAZATLAN

Game summary:  Trailing 4-3, Los Mochis scored one in the seventh to tie and two in the eighth to take the lead.
Los Mochis:  Juan Carlos Gamboa  (Mets) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in three.  Ramon Orantes was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.
Mazatlan:  Chris Walker was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.  Brett Harper hit a home run.

OBREGON 8, CULIACAN 3 IN OBREGON

Game summary:  Obregon led 4-0 after six.  Culiacan scored three in the top of the seventh, but Obregon scored three in the bottom of the seventh.
Culiacan:  Mario Valdez was 3-for-4.  Emmanuel Valdez (No relation.  To Al Newman.) was 2-for-3 with a walk.
Obregon:  David Reyes struck out seven in 5.1 shutout innings, allowing four hits and four walks.  Barbaro Canizares was 4-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in four.

Venezuelan League: Games of November 29


ANZOATEGUI 16, MAGALLANES 3 IN MAGALLANES

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 2-for-6 with a run and two RBIs.  Bruce Pugh (Anzoategui) pitched a scoreless inning and gave up only a walk.
Game summary:  Anzoategui scored five in the third to take a 9-0 lead.
Anzoategui:  Reynel Pinto struck out five in five shutout innings, walking six but giving up only two hits.  Niuman Romero was 4-for-5 with three doubles and a walk, scoring three times and driving in one.
Magallanes:  Carlos Maldonado (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Francisco Cervelli (Yankees) was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

MARGARITA 5, ARAGUA 3 IN MARGARITA

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia (Margarita) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Angel Mata (Aragua) pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up one walk but no hits.
Game summary:  Margarita scored three in the first and led all the way.  Aragua scored two in the ninth to make the final score closer.
Aragua:  Joey Gathright was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Hector Gimenez was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.
Margarita:  Eric Berger struck out six in six shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk.  Matt Clark was 2-for-2 with a home run and two walks.

Game summary:  Humberto Quintero hit a walk-off homer with one out in the tenth.
Lara:  Roenis Elias (Seattle) struck out four in five shutout innings, giving up four hits and a walk.  Alcides Escobar (Kansas City) was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk and scored once.
Zulia:  Quintero was 2-for-4 and scored twice.  Gabriel Zavala pitched two shutout innings, allowing two walks while striking out two.

CARACAS 4, LA GUAIRA 3 IN CARACAS

Game summary:  Caracas scored four in the fourth; La Guaira scored three in the eighth.  La Guaira got the tying run to first in the eighth and ninth, but did not advance him.
La Guaira:  Renny Osuna was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer.  Rafael Ortega (Colorado) was 2-for-3 and scored once.
Caracas:  Eddie Bonine (Arizona) pitched five shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks.  Daniel Mayora (San Francisco) was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer.

Puerto Rican League: Games of November 28


SANTURCE 6, CAROLINA 4 IN CAROLINA

Twins:  Nelvin Fuentes (Santurce) gave up a hit to the only man he faced, but he did not score.
Game summary:  Santurce scored three in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead.  Each team scored once in the seventh.  Santurce got an insurance run in the eighth.
Santurce:  Geraldo Valentin was 2-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in two.  Fehlandt Lentini was 2-for-5 with two doubles and scored twice.
Carolina:  Julio Rodriguez struck out two in three shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk.

MAYAGUEZ 4, PONCE 3 IN MAYAGUEZ

Twins:  Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 1-for-3 with a double and scored once.  Josue Montanez (Ponce) worked a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.
Game summary:  Ponce scored three in the eighth to tie the game at three.  Randy Ruiz delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to regain the lead for Mayaguez.
Ponce:  Henry Ramos (Boston) was 2-for-3.  Ryan Tatusko (Washington) pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Mayaguez:  Hector Hernandez (St. Louis) struck out five in six shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk.  Martin Maldonado (Milwaukee) was 3-for-4 with a double and scored once.

MANATI 12, CAGUAS 10 IN CAGUAS

Game summary:  Manati scored six in the fifth to take an 11-0 lead.  The score was 11-2 after eight.  Caguas scored eight runs in the ninth and got the tying run up to bat with two out.
Manati:  Ivan De Jesus (Boston) was 4-for-5 with two doubles, scoring twice and driving in three.  Ramon Vazquez was 4-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in two.
Caguas:  Johnny Monell (San Francisco) was 3-for-5 with a double and a triple, scoring twice and driving in two.  Edgardo Baez was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in two.

Dominican League: Games of November 28


LICEY 4, ORIENTE 3 IN ORIENTE

Twins:  Jhonatan Arias (Oriente) was used as a defensive substitute and did not bat.  Miguel Sano (Oriente) was used as a pinch-hitter and was 0-for-1.
Game summary:  Licey scored all four runs in the first.  Oriente scored all three runs in the eighth.  Oriente had the tying run in scoring position with two out in the eighth and got him on base with none out in the ninth.
Licey:  Julio Teheran (Atlanta) struck out four in 5.2 shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.  Donell Linares hit a three-run homer.
Oriente:  Nelson Perez (Cubs) was 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, and two RBIs.  Victor Moreno struck out two in two perfect innings.

AGUILAS 12, ESCOGIDO 9 IN ESCOGIDO

Game summary:  Escogido led 9-3 after five.  Aguilas scored five in the sixth to get back into the game and three in the seventh to take the lead.  The two teams combined to use eighteen pitchers.
Aguilas:  Oscar Taveras (St. Louis) was 3-for-5 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Miguel Tejada was 2-for-5 with two doubles, scoring three times and driving in one.
Escogido:  Starling Marte (Pittsburgh) was 3-for-5 with a double and a triple, scoring twice and driving in three.  Wilkin Castillo (Dodgers) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.

Game summary:  Cibao scored two in the fifth to go ahead 3-1 and scored four in the eighth to go ahead 7-2.
Este:  Ricardo Nanita (Toronto) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Jose Constanza (Atlanta) was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
