Venezuelan League: Games of December 8

LA GUAIRA 8, ARAGUA 7 IN LA GUAIRA


Twins: Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-4 and scored once. Angel Mata (Aragua) pitched a third of an inning, giving up a hit and a walk while striking out one. Dakota Watts (Aragua) gave up two hits in 1.1 scoreless innings.
Game summary: La Guaira scored three in the ninth to win. Cesar Suarez delivered an RBI single to win the game.
Aragua: Luis Maza was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring twice and driving in one. Joey Gathright was 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk, driving in three.
La Guaira: Javier Herrera was 4-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two. C. J. Retherford (Dodgers) was 0-for-1 with four walks and scored twice.

MARGARITA 6, ZULIA 5 IN ZULIA

Twins: Darin Mastroianni (Zulia) was 1-for-3 and scored once.
Game summary: Zulia led 5-1 after six, but Margarita scored three in the seventh and two in the eighth. A Matt Clark (San Diego) two-run homer brought in the tying and winning runs.
Margarita: Clark was 2-for-4 with a double. Henry Blanco was 1-for-1 with three walks and scored once.
Zulia: Austin Bibens-Dirkx struck out five in five innings, allowing one run on three hits and three walks. Jose Pirela (Yankees) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

ANZOATEGUI 4, LARA 3 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins: Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 0-for-2 with a sacrifice fly.
Game summary: Lara scored once in the ninth and got the tying run on base with one out.
Lara: Jose Lopez was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Deryk Hooker struck out two in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.
Anzoategui: Luis Nunez was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, scoring twice. Alex Herrera allowed two runs on four hits and no walks in six innings.

MAGALLANES 10, CARACAS 2 IN MAGALLANES

Game summary: Magallanes scored four in the fifth to take a 7-2 lead.
Caracas: Asdrubal Cabrera (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 and scored once. Luis Rodriguez was 2-for-4.
Magallanes: Carlos Zambrano allowed two runs on six hits and no walks, striking out five in seven innings. Eliezer Alfonso was 2-for-5 with a double and a home run, scoring twice and driving in two.
