Mexican League: Games of December 23

MEXICALI 7, NAVOJOA 2 IN NAVOJOA

Game summary: Leading 2-1 after seven, Mexicali scored three in the eighth and two in the ninth.
Mexicali: Irwin Delgado struck out seven in six innings, giving up one run on two hits and two walks. Jorge Guzman was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.
Navojoa: Ben Broussard was 1-for-3 with a home run.

HERMOSILLO 4, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN LOS MOCHIS

Game summary: Hermosillo scored single runs in the second, third, fourth, and sixth. Los Mochis got both of its runs in the fourth.
Hermosillo: Dennys Reyes struck out six in seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks. Jesse Gutierrez was 2-for-4 with a home run.
Los Mochis: Sandy Madera was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer. Jose Manuel Lopez pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing only a walk.

CULIACAN 6, MAZATLAN 2 IN MAZATLAN

Game summary: Culiacan took a 4-0 lead with four in the second. Mazatlan cut it to 4-2 in the eighth, but Culiacan got two more in the ninth to put it away.
Culiacan: Francisco Felix gave up one run on five hits and a walk while striking out three in four innings of relief. Cesar Tapia was 1-for-2 with two walks, scoring twice and driving in one.
Mazatlan: Carlos Vazquez (Mets) retired all six men he faced, getting the first to hit into a double play and striking out the next five. Mario Santana was 1-for-2 with a walk.

OBREGON 7, GUASAVE 4 IN GUASAVE (11 INNINGS)

Game summary: Guasave scored in the ninth to tie it at four, but Obregon scored four in the eleventh to win. Doug Clark led off the inning with a home run. Obregon then filled the bases with two hit batsmen, a bunt, and an intentional walk. Willy Taveras then hit a two-run double.
Obregon: Clark was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Iker Franco was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer.
Guasave: Sean Gleason retired all six batters he faced, five by strikeout. Gabriel Gutierrez was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.
