Mexican League: Games of December 8


GUASAVE 6, LOS MOCHIS 3 IN GUASAVE

Twins:  Chris Colabello (Guasave) was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk.
Game summary:  Los Mochis scored three in the first, but Guasave came back with four in the second and added two in the eighth.
Los Mochis:  Fredy Quintero worked three shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  Jason Botts was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.
Guasave:  Jose Felix (Texas) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, driving in four.  Japhet Amador was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.

OBREGON 8, NAVOJOA 1 IN NAVOJOA

Twins:  Gonzalo Sanudo (Navojoa) pitched 1.2 innings, surrendering two runs on two hits and a walk.
Game summary:  Obregon took a 4-0 lead after five, then scored four in the eighth.
Obregon:  Marco Carrillo gave up one run on six hits, walking two and striking out seven in a complete game.  Doug Clark was 2-for-2 with a walk and scored once.
Navojoa:  Wes Bankston was 2-for-3 with a double and scored once.  Sergio Lizarraga pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits.

MEXICALI 1, CULIACAN 0 IN CULIACAN

Game summary:  The game’s lone run scored in the first inning on a sacrifice fly.
Mexicali:  Marco Duarte (Boston) struck out six in six shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks.  Jon Weber was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Culiacan:  Rodrigo Lopez pitched a complete game, allowing one run on five hits and one walk.  Mario Valdez was 2-for-4 with a double.

HERMOSILLO 6, MAZATLAN 5 IN HERMOSILLO

Game summary:  Hermosillo scored four in the fifth to take a 6-4 lead.  Mazatlan got one in the sixth, but no more.  They came closest in the seventh, putting runners on first and second with one out, but a double play ended the threat.
Mazatlan:  Jesse Castillo was 4-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI.  Chris Walker was 3-for-4 with a home run and a walk, driving in two.
Hermosillo:  Jorge Cantu was 2-for-3 with two home runs, a walk, and five RBIs.  Carlos Orrantia was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.
