Mexican League: Games of December 29

MAZATLAN 3, HERMOSILLO 1 IN MAZATLAN


Game summary: Mazatlan took a 2-0 lead in the first. Hermosillo cut it to 2-1 in the fifth, but Mazatlan got an insurance run in the eighth.
Hermosillo: Dennys Reyes struck out six in seven innings, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks. Jorge Cantu was 2-for-3 with a double.
Mazatlan: Jay Jackson (Cubs) struck out eight in seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and a walk. Issmael Salas was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

MEXICALI 10, GAUSAVE 5 IN MEXICALI

Game summary: Mexicali scored five in the sixth to take a 6-3 lead. Guasave cut it to 6-5 in the seventh, but Mexicali got four more in the eighth.
Guasave: Orlando Lara struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on four hits and four walks. Eduardo Arredondo was 3-for-5 and scored three times.
Mexicali: Roman Pena was 3-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in one. Jon Weber was 2-for-4 with a homer and a walk, scoring twice and driving in three.

CULIACAN 5, LOS MOCHIS 0 IN CULIACAN

Game summary: Culiacan scored two in the fourth, one in the seventh, and two in the eighth.
Los Mochis: Ramon Orantes was 2-for-4. Sebastian Valle (Philadelphia) was 1-for- 3 with a double and a walk.
Culiacan: Amauri Sanit struck out six in five innings, allowing one hit and two walks. Cory Aldridge was 2-for-4 and scored twice.

OBREGON 7, NAVOJOA 6 IN NAVOJOA

Game summary: Obregon led 7-2 after five. Navojoa scored four in the eighth and had the tying run in scoring position.
Obregon: Agustin Murillo was 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Barbaro Canizares was 2-for-5 with a home run, scoring twice and driving in three.
Navojoa: Sergio Lizarraga pitched three shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out two. Luis Fonseca was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.
