LARA 5, ARAGUA 3 IN LARA


Twins: Dakota Watts (Aragua) struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.
Game summary: Lara scored four in the third to take a 4-1 lead. Aragua cut it to 4-3 in the eighth, but Lara scored an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth.
Aragua: Roy Merritt struck out three in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit. Juan Sanchez was 1-for-1 with a double and a walk and scored once.
Lara: Harvey Garcia struck out five in five innings, allowing an unearned run on four hits and a walk. Hernan Iribarren was 2-for-3 with a triple and scored once.

ANZOATEGUI 10, MAGALLANES 5 IN MAGALLANES

Twins: Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Game summary: Magallanes scored all five runs in the second to take a 5-4 lead. Anzoategui took the lead back with three in the third.
Anzoategui: Alex Serrano worked four perfect innings of relief with three strikeouts. Jose Gil (Baltimore) was 4-for-6, scoring twice and driving in three.
Magallanes: Jose Macias (Oakland) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk.

CARACAS 10, MARGARITA 8 IN CARACAS

Game summary: Caracas scored four in the first and led 10-1 after six. Margarita got three in the seventh and four in the ninth. They got the tying run up to bat with one out.
Margarita: Arnaldo Calero was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer. Rene Reyes was 2-for-4 and scored once.
Caracas: Angel Calero struck out four in five innings, allowing an unearned run on two hits and two walks. Gregorio Petit (San Diego) was 4-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in two.
