Puerto Rican League: Games of December 16

SANTURCE 3, CAROLINA 1 IN SANTURCE

Twins: Angel Morales (Carolina) was used as a pinch-runner but did not bat.
Game summary: Santurce broke a scoreless tie with three in the fifth. Carolina got its lone run in the eighth.
Carolina: Jesus Feliciano was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.
Santurce: Jason Lowey worked 7.2 innings, allowing one run on five hits and three walks. Luis Rivera was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

MANATI 10, MAYAGUEZ 4 IN MAYAGUEZ (GAME 1—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Twins: Eddie Rosario (Mayaguez) was 3-for-4. Kennys Vargas (Mayaguez) was 1-for-4. Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 0-for-2 with a walk.
Game summary: Manati scored four in the first. Mayaguez closed to 5-4 after five, but Manati scored five in the sixth to put it away.
Manati: Ruben Gotay was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Ivan De Jesus (Boston) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring three times and driving in one.
Mayaguez: Irving Falu (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 and scored once. Randy Ruiz was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

MAYAGUEZ 4, MANATI 1 IN MANATI (GAME 2—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Twins: Eddie Rosario (Mayaguez) was 2-for-3 with a double and scored twice. Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Nelvin Fuentes (Mayaguez) worked three shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks while striking out two.
Game summary: Mayaguez opened the scoring with two in the first. Manati scored its run in the third. Mayaguez got insurance runs in the fourth and sixth.
Mayaguez: Adonis Garcia (Yankees) was 2-for-4 and scored once.
Manati: Ivan De Jesus (Boston) was 3-for-3 with a home run. Juan Centeno (Mets) was 2-for-3.

PONCE 2, CAGUAS 1 IN PONCE (15 INNINGS)

Twins: Josue Montanez (Ponce) worked 1.1 scoreless innings, walking one and striking out one.
Game summary: Robinson Cancel delivered an RBI single with two out to drive home the game-winner.
Caguas: Jose De La Torre pitched three perfect innings with two strikeouts. Roberto Pena was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
Ponce: Zach Walters was 3-for-6. Henry Ramos was 2-for-5 with two doubles and two walks.
