CARACAS 7, ARAGUA 5 IN CARACAS

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 0-for-4 with a sacrifice fly and struck out once.  Edgar Ibarra (Aragua) started and pitched 3.2 innings, surrendering three runs on seven hits and three walks, striking out four.
Game summary:  Caracas scored three in the fifth to take a 6-4 lead.
Aragua:  Alex Romero was 3-for-4 with a double and a three-run homer.  Jose Martinez (Houston) was 3-for-4 with a double and scored once.
Caracas:  Hernan Perez (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.  Henry Wrigley (Tampa Bay) was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.

ZULIA 4, MARGARITA 0 IN ZULIA

Twins:  Aaron Hicks (Margarita) was 0-for-3 with a sacrifice bunt and struck out twice.  Sean Burroughs (Margarita) was 1-for-3 with a walk and struck out once.
Game summary:  Leading 1-0, Zulia scored three in the eighth to take control.
Margarita:  Eric Berger (Cleveland) gave up one run on five hits and no walks in 6.2 innings.  J. C. Linares (Boston) was 2-for-3 with a walk.
Zulia:  Josh Schmidt (Miami) struck out seven in six innings, giving up five hits and two walks.  Jose Pirela (Yankees) was 2-for-3 with a triple and scored twice.

ANZOATEGUI 4, LA GUAIRA 3 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 1-for-3 and scored once.  Yorman Landa (La Guaira) started and pitched a third of an inning, allowing one run on one hit and three walks.
Game summary:  Alexi Amarista (San Diego) hit a pinch-hit, walk-off homer to start (and end) the bottom of the ninth.
La Guaira:  Darin Ruf (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with two home runs.  Oscar Salazar was 2-for-4.
Anzoategui:  Niuman Romero (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with two doubles and drove in three.  Jose Castillo was 2-for-2 and walked twice.

LARA 6, MAGALLANES 3 IN LARA

Game summary:  Lara scored three in the fifth to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 5-3 lead.
Magallanes:  Carlos Maldonado was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Eliezer Alfonzo was 2-for-4 and scored once.
Lara:  Hernan Iribarren (Colorado) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Jhonny Montoya struck out three in 2.1 hitless innings.
