Mexican League: Games of October 21


CULIACAN 5, GUASAVE 1 IN GUASAVE

Twins:  Chris Colabello (Guasave) was 0-for-4 with an RBI.
Game summary:  A two-run third put Culiacan in the lead, and single runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh put the game away.
Culiacan:  Mario Valdez was 2-for-4 with a home run, driving in two.  Amauri Sanit allowed one run on three hits in six innings.
Guasave:  Jose Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a double.

MEXICALI 4, MAZATLAN 3 IN MEXICALI

Game summary:  Ricky Alvarez homered in the seventh to break a 3-3 tie.
Mazatlan:  Ivan Terrazas was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Humberto Sosa was 2-for-4 with a double.
Mexicali:  Oscar Robles was 2-for-4 with a double and drove in one.  Issmael Salas hit a two-run homer.

NAVOJOA 5, LOS MOCHIS 4 IN NAVOJOA

Game summary:  A four-run third gave Navojoa the lead, but it withstood a comeback by Los Mochis.
Los Mochis:  Jason Botts was 3-for-4 with a home run, driving in three.  Sandy Madera was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.
Navojoa:  Steve Moss was 1-for-1 with a grand slam and walked three times.

HERMOSILLO 2, OBREGON 0 IN HERMOSILLO

Game summary:  Karim Garcia’s two-run homer in the seventh produced all the runs of the game.
Obregon:  Mauro Carillo pitched six innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks.
Hermosillo:  Pablo Menchaca pitched four shutout innings, allowing one hit and two walks.  Garrett Mock (Houston) threw three shutout innings, only giving up a walk.
