Mexican League: Games of October 25


MAZATLAN 4, NAVOJOA 3 IN MAZATLAN (11 INNINGS)

Twins:  Anthony Slama (Mazatlan) pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and two walks.
Game summary:  A single, an error, and an infield grounder produced the winning run.
Navojoa:  Kraig Binick was 4-for-6 with a run and an RBI.  Wes Bankston was 2-for-3 with two walks.
Mazatlan:  Jaime Trejo was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer.  Luis Vazquez struck out three in two shutout innings.

GUASAVE 5, MEXICALI 1 IN MEXICALI (12 INNINGS)

Twins:  Chris Colabello (Guasave) was 1-for-6 with an RBI and struck out twice.
Game summary:  Zelous Wheeler (Baltimore) hit a three-run double to put Guasave ahead in the twelfth, then came around to score another insurance run on Colabello’s single.
Guasave:  Andrew Sisco struck out six in seven shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Wheeler was 3-for-6 with two doubles.
Mexicali:  Jorge Campillo allowed one run on six hits in six innings.  Ricky Alvarez was 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once.

OBREGON 4, LOS MOCHIS 1 IN LOS MOCHIS

Game summary:  Obregon scored three in the fifth to take a 4-0 lead.
Obregon:  Rolando Valdez allowed an unearned run on four hits and a walk in 5.2 innings.  Barbaro Canizares was 1-for-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk.
Los Mochis:  Jesus Arredondo (Dodgers) was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.

HERMOSILLO 11, CULIACAN 10 IN HERMOSILLO

Game summary:  Hermosillo scored two in the ninth to cap a comeback from a 10-2 deficit.  Alejandro Ahumada hit a two-run walk-off double.
Culiacan:  Maxwell Leon was 2-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam, scoring twice.  Marlon Byrd was 2-for-3 with a walk and a three-run homer.
Hermosillo:  Humberto Cota was 3-for-5 with a double and two home runs, scoring three times and driving in five.  Trent Oeltjen was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer.
