Venezuelan League: Games of October 25


LARA 4, MARGARITA 1 IN LARA

Twins:  Aaron Hicks (Margarita) was 1-for-4 with a walk and struck out once.
Game summary:  Leading 2-1 in the eighth, Lara scored a pair of insurance runs to put the game away.
Margarita:  Boof Bonser (San Francisco) gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk in 4.2 innings.  Wilmer Flores (Mets) was 3-for-4 with a double.
Lara:  Jarrett Grube (Angels) pitched four shutout innings.  Luis Jimenez (Seattle) was 3-for-4 with a triple.

LA GUAIRA 6, CARACAS 4 IN LA GUAIRA

Game summary:  La Guaira scored four in the fourth, turning a 3-1 deficit into a 5-3 lead.
Caracas:  Brandon Barnes (Houston) was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer.  Henry Wrigley (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-4 and scored once.
La Guaira:  Scott Van Slyke (Dodgers) was 2-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk, scoring twice.  Miguel Gonzalez (White Sox) was 2-for-3 with a double.

ANZOATEGUI 7, MAGALLANES 1 IN ANZOATEGUI

Game summary:  Anzoategui scored five in the seventh to snap a 1-1 tie.
Magallanes:  Gustavo Chacin allowed one run on five hits in five innings.  Jesus Merchan (San Diego) hit a home run.
Anzoategui:  Donovan Hand (Milwaukee) struck out six in six innings, allowing one run on four hits and a walk.  Alexi Amarista (San Diego) was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in one.
