Dominican League: Games of October 19


LICEY 12, ESTE 5 IN ESTE

Twins:  Wilkin Ramirez was 0-for-1 with a walk for Este.  He also hit a sacrifice fly and was hit by a pitch.
Game summary:  Licey broke open a 2-2 tie with a five-run third.
Licey:  Dee Gordon (Dodgers) was 4-for-6 and scored twice.  Mike Olt (Texas) was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, driving in two.
Este:  Eugenio Velez was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk, scoring once.  Yan Gomes (Toronto) hit a home run.

AGUILAS 7, ORIENTE 3 IN AGUILAS

Twins:  Drew Butera was 1-for-3 and struck out once.
Game summary:  Aguilas scored four in the first and was never in danger of losing the lead.
Oriente:  Luis Jimenez (Angels) was 3-for-4 with a double, driving in one.  Julio De Paula retired all five men he faced, striking out one.
Aguilas:  Oscar Taveras (St. Louis) hit a two-run homer.  Francisco Pena (Mets) also homered.

CIBAO 4, ESCOGIDO 3 IN ESCOGIDO

Twins:  Pedro Florimon was 1-for-4, was hit by a pitch, and scored a run.
Game summary:  Three walks and a sacrifice fly plated the go-ahead run for Cibao in the ninth.
Cibao:  Jean Segura (Milwaukee) was 3-for-4 and scored once.  Marcell Ozuna (Miami) was 2-for-4 with two doubles, driving in one.
Escogido:  Melky Mesa was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk.  Wilkin Castillo (Colorado) was 2-for-2 with two walks.
