AFL Games of October 25


PEORIA 8, MESA 2 IN MESA

Twins:  Nate Roberts was 1-for-2.  He walked once, was hit by pitches twice, and scored twice.  Dan Rohlfing was 1-for-3, was hit by a pitch, and hit a sacrifice fly, driving in two.  Michael Tonkin allowed no hits and no walks in one inning, striking out one.  Logan Darnell gave up two hits but no runs in one inning.
Game summary:  Peoria scored three in the eighth and four in the ninth to turn a close game into a laugher.
Peoria:  Nate Freiman (San Diego) was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring three times.  Tim Crabbe (Cincinnati) worked four hitless innings, walking one.
Mesa:  Luke Putkonen (Detroit) gave up two hits and a walk in five shutout innings.  Javier Baez (Cubs) homered and walked.

SALT RIVER 6, PHOENIX 3 IN SALT RIVER

Game summary:  Leading 2-1 after five, the Rafters scored four in the sixth to salt the game away.
Phoenix:  Kyle Jensen (Miami) was 3-for-4 with a home run, driving in two.  Josh Prince (Milwaukee) was 2-for-5 with two doubles and scored once.
Salt River:  Brian Goodwin (Washington) was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk, scoring twice.  Carlos Sanchez (White Sox) was 2-for-3 with a triple and two walks.  He scored once and drove in four.

SCOTTSDALE 6, SURPRISE 3 IN SCOTTSDALE

Game summary:  Scottsdale scored two in the sixth to go up 3-2 and three in the sixth to make it 6-2.
Surprise:  Christian Vazquez was 4-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, scoring twice and driving in two.  Hanser Alberto was 3-for-4.
Scottsdale:  Ronny Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.  Austin Romine was 1-for-2 with two walks and scored once.
