Dominican League: Games of October 21


ESCOGIDO 3, ESTE 1 IN ESCOGIDO

Twins:  Wilkin Ramirez (Este) was 1-for-2 with a triple and a walk, scoring once.  Pedro Florimon (Escogido) was 1-for-4 with a run.
Game summary:  Roger Kieschnick (San Francisco) hit a two-run homer in the third to give Escogido a 3-0 lead.
Este:  Adalberto Mendez pitched 1.2 scoreless innings.
Escogido:  Daniel Cabrera (Arizona) pitched five shutout innings without a strikeout, giving up two hits and walking two.  Kieschnick was 1-for-3 with a walk and drove in three.

CIBAO 12, ORIENTE 5 IN ORIENTE

Twins:  Drew Butera (Oriente) started and went 0-for-1, then was replaced.
Game summary:  Cibao scored six in the second on the way to building an 11-0 lead.
Cibao:  Moises Sierra (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with a double and a homer, scoring three times and driving in three.  Ronny Gil (St. Louis) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Oriente:  Junior Lake (Cubs) was 3-for-5 with a home run.  Ed Rogers hit a two-run homer.

LICEY 3, AGUILAS 2 IN AGUILAS

Game summary:  Licey scored two in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie.
Licey:  Brian Cavazos-Galvez (Dodgers) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Daniel McCutchen pitched four innings and gave up only one run despite allowing six hits and three walks.
Aguilas:  Efren Navarro (Angels) was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.  Juan Carlos Perez was 2-for-3 with a walk.
