SANTURCE 7, MAYAGUEZ 2 IN MAYAGUEZ
Twins: Daniel Ortiz was 1-for-5 for Mayaguez. Kennys Vargas was 0-for-3 for Mayaguez.
Santurce: Delino DeShields (Houston) was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs. A. J. Jimenez (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in two. Ivan Maldonado pitched seven innings, giving up an unearned run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
Mayaguez: Luis Figueroa was 1-for-2 with two walks, scoring once and driving in one. T. J. Rivera (Mets) was 2-for-5 with a run. Andrew Barbosa (Arizona) struck out seven in five shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk.
The game: Mayaguez led 1-0 after five, but Santurce took control with a five-run sixth. A three-run double by Jonathan Rodriguez (St. Louis) put Santurce in the lead for good.
