Dominican Winter League: Games of November 16


Manny Ramirez leads Aguilas to victory.  A big day for Jorge Polanco.

AGUILAS 6, CIBAO 3 IN CIBAO

TwinsJeremias Pineda was 0-for-2 with a walk for Cibao.

Aguilas:  Rafael Ynoa (Colorado) was 2-for-2 with a double and three walks, scoring twice.  Manny Ramirez (Cubs) was 2-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs.  Liam Hendriks (Kansas City) pitched five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

Cibao:  Jonathan Diaz (Toronto) was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his second.  Robinzon Diaz (Milwaukee) was 1-for-4 with a home run, his second.  James Hoyt retired all four batters he faced, striking out two.

The game:  Ramirez’ two-run double in the fourth put Aguilas ahead 4-2.  Zoilo Almonte (Yankees) hit a two-run homer in the ninth for a couple of insurance runs.

ESCOGIDO 8, LICEY 2 IN LICEY

TwinsJorge Polanco was 4-for-5 with two runs for Escogido.  Chris Parmelee was 0-for-4 with a run for Licey.

Escogido:  Brad Glenn (Toronto) was 3-for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs.  Alex Colome (Tampa Bay) struck out six in 4.2 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and two walks.

Licey:  Jose Ruiz (San Diego) was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.  Anderson Hernandez was 2-for-3.  Luis Vasquez pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

The game:  Escogido scored two in the second, two in the third, and three in the fourth to go up 7-0.  Licey did not score until the bottom of the ninth.
