Dominican Winter League: Games of November 22


Two-out singles win the day for Cibao.  Three RBI singles win the day for Este.  A pair of doubles win the day for Oriente.

CIBAO 3, ESCOGICO 2 IN ESCOGIDO

Twins:  Jeremias Pineda pinch-ran and scored for Cibao.  Jorge Polanco was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run for Escogido.

Cibao:  Emmanuel Burriss (Washington) was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run.  Leury Garcia (White Sox) was 1-for-2 with two walks and a run.  Miguel Almonte struck out five in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk.

Escogido:  Jimmy Paredes was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Merrill Kelly (Tampa Bay) struck out five in five shutout innings, allowing two hits and five walks.

The game:  Escogido led 2-0 after six, but Garabez Rosa (Baltimore) hit a two-out two-run single in the seventh to tie the score.  In the eighth, Ketel Marte (Seattle) delivered a two-out single to drive in the go-ahead run.

ESTE 4, LICEY 3 IN ESTE

Licey:  Juan Francisco was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his fifth) and a double, scoring twice and driving in two.  Diory Hernandez was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.  Randall Delgado (Arizona) pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts.

Este:  Eugenio Velez was 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.  Jose Ramirez (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Alberto Cabrera (Detroit) pitched two perfect innings with four strikeouts.

The game:  Licey led 3-1 through six.  In the seventh, RBI singles by Velez, Ramirez, and Matt Hague (Toronto) put Este in the lead to stay.

ORIENTE 3, AGUILAS 1 IN ORIENTE

Aguilas:  Francisco Pena (Kansas City) was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Dan Black (White Sox) was 2-for-4.  Liam Hendriks (Toronto) struck out five in 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk.

Oriente:  Jake Fox (Toronto) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once.  Juan Diaz (White Sox) with 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Ryan Rowland-Smith pitched five innings, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

The game:  Diaz doubled in the go-ahead run in the fourth, breaking a 1-1 tie.  Alfredo Marte (Angels) doubled in an insurance run in the eighth.
