Puerto Rican League: Games of November 6


Free baseball in Carolina.  Jose De Leon pitches five perfect innings for Caguas.

CAROLINA 5, SANTURCE 4 IN CAROLINA (11 INNINGS)

Santurce:  Yenier Bello (Atlanta) was 2-for-5 with a run.  Delino DeShields (Houston) was 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.  Fernando Cruz (Kansas City) struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Carolina:  Jesus Feliciano was 2-for-5 with a triple and a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Carlos Corporan (Houston) was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.  Juan Caballero (St. Louis) pitched four shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks with two strikeouts.
The game:  DeShields' sacrifice fly tied the score 3-3 in the eighth.  A. J. Jimenez (Toronto) singled in a run to put Santurce ahead in the top of the eleventh, but Feliciano tripled in the tying run and scored the winning run on a Rene Garcia (Houston) single.

CAGUAS 3, SAN JUAN 1 IN SAN JUAN

Caguas:  Juan Silva (Cincinnati) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run.  Rey Navarro (Cincinnati) was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Starter Jose De Leon (Dodgers) pitched five perfect innings with two strikeouts.
San Juan:  Nolan Fontana (Houston) was 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.  Adalberto Flores pitched seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
The game:  Navarro's two-run double came in a three-run fourth for Caguas.  San Juan did not get a baserunner until the sixth, when they scored their lone run.
