Puerto Rican League: Games of November 12


Little scoring in Santurce.  Big scoring in Mayaguez.

SANTURCE 2, CAGUAS 0 IN SANTURCE

Caguas:  Henry Ramos (Boston) was 2-for-3 with a walk.  Miguel Abreu was 2-for-4.  Jacob Barnes (Milwaukee) struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks.
Santurce:  Jonathan Rodriguez (St. Louis) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.  Jordan Lennerton (Detroit) was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.  Ivan Maldonado pitched four shutout innings, allowing four hits and one walk with one strikeout.
The game:  Santurce scored one on a wild pitch in the fifth and got an insurance run on an RBI single by Emmanuel Marrero (Philadelphia) in the sixth.  Caguas had seven hits, all singles, and stranded nine.

MAYAGUEZ 11, CAROLINA 9 IN MAYAGUEZ

Twins:  Daniel Ortiz was 1-for-5 with a run for Mayaguez.  Kennys Vargas was 0-for-2 with three walks and two runs for Mayaguez.
Carolina:  Isan Diaz (Arizona) was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Cameron Seitzer (Tampa Bay) was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs.  Giovanni Soto (Cleveland) pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.
Mayaguez:  Andrew Velazquez (Arizona) was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer (his second) and two runs.  Randy Ruiz was 2-for-5 with a grand slam.  Luis Callazo pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit and striking out one.
