Puerto Rican League: Games of November 11


A tough day for Twins players.  Free baseball in San Juan.

SANTURCE 4, MAYAGUEZ 1 IN MAYAGUEZ

Twins:  Daniel Ortiz was 0-for-4.  Kennys Vargas was 0-for-3.  Both players are playing for Mayaguez.
Santurce:  Jack Lopez (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Jordan Lennerton (Detroit) was 3-for-4 with an RBI.  Pat Misch (Detroit) pitched four shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks with three strikeouts.
Mayaguez:  Randy Ruiz was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run.  Luis Figueroa was 2-for-3.  Freddie Cabrera (Dodgers) pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits with two strikeouts.
The game:  Santurce scored two in the third and two in the fourth and was in control the rest of the way.  The lone Mayaguez run came in the eighth.

SAN JUAN 5, CAROLINA 4 IN SAN JUAN (10 INNINGS)

Carolina:  Jesus Feliciano was 3-for-5 with a run and two RBIs.  Masayoshi Tsukada was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.  Juan Caballero (St. Louis) struck out six in three innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and a walk.
San Juan:  John Andreoli (Cubs) was 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk, scoring twice and driving in one.  Jose Lozada (Washington) was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.  Eddie Camacho struck out three in three innings, allowing one run on three hits.
The game:  San Juan took a 3-0 lead in the first, but it was tied 3-3 after five and 4-4 after six.  Andreoli led off the tenth with a triple and scored on a one-out single by Geraldo Valentin (Miami) to win the game.
