Dominican Winter League: Games of October 31


A big day for Chris Parmelee.  Walks come back to haunt Oriente.  A good day to be a Franco in Aguilas.

LICEY 6, ESCOGIDO 3 IN ESCOGIDO

Twins:  Chris Parmelee was 3-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs for Licey.  Deibinson Romero was 0-for-4 for Escogido.
Licey:  Mel Rojas (Pittsburgh) was 1-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.  Asher Wojciechowski (Houston) pitched 4.2 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
Escogido:  Buck Britton (Baltimore) was 2-for-5 with a home run, his third.  Pedro Florimon was 2-for-4 with a double.  Andre Rienzo (White Sox) struck out four in four shutout innings, allowing one hit and two walks.
The game:  Escogido led 2-1 after seven, but Licey scored four runs in the eighth.  Marco Hernandez (Cubs) singled in the tying run and Diory Hernandez singled in the go-ahead run.

ESTE 10, ORIENTE 4 IN ESTE

Twins:  Wilkin Ramirez was 1-for-5 for Este.
Oriente:  Jordany Valdespin (Miami) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once.  Fernando Martinez was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.
Este:  Tyler Moore (Washington) was 1-for-2 with three walks and four runs.  Yasmani Grandal (San Diego) was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, driving in three.  Jose Valdez (Boston) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing a walk with one strikeout.
The game:  Trailing 4-3 after five, Este scored five times in the sixth.  Jose Ramirez (Cleveland) drove in the tying and go-ahead runs with a double.  Este drew four walks in the inning.

CIBAO 10, AGUILAS 5 IN AGUILAS

Cibao:  Maikel Franco (Philadelphia) was 2-for-5 with a home run and a double, scoring twice and driving in four.  Xavier Scruggs (St. Louis) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a double, driving in three.  Scott Alexander (Kansas City) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.
Aguilas:  Angel Franco (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Dan Black (White Sox) was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his second.  Juan Sandoval struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk.
The game:  Cibao broke a 2-2 tie in a big way, scoring five in the fifth.  Maikel Franco had a three-run double in the inning.  Aguilas did not get closer than four after that.
