Dominican Winter League: Games of October 26


Tyler's homer helped Este, but they needed Moore.  A big day for Chris Parmelee wasn't enough for Licey.

ESTE 4, ESCOGIDO 3 IN ESCOGIDO

Twins:  Wilkin Ramirez was 1-for-4 for Este.  Deibinson Romero was 0-for-2 with a walk for Escogido.
Este:  Tyler Moore (Washington) was 3-for-5 with a three-run homer, his fourth.  Eugenio Velez (Milwaukee) was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  Chris Leroux (Yankees) struck out eight in five innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks.
Escogido:  Melky Mesa (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.  Ronny Paulino (Detroit) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.  Rainy Lara (Mets) pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits with one strikeout.
The game:  Moore hit a three-run homer in the first.  Escogido came back to score one in the fifth and two in the seventh to tie it.  A Velez single-plus-error and two productive outs plated what turned out to be the winning run in the ninth.

AGUILAS 6, LICEY 1 IN AGUILAS

Twins:  Chris Parmelee was 3-for-3 with a double and a walk for Licey.
Licey:  Marco Hernandez (Cubs) was 1-for-3 with a double and a run.  Dionis Soriano pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.
Aguilas:  Jordy Lara (Seattle) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second), scoring twice and driving in three.  Andy Marte (Arizona) was 1-for-3 with a home run (his third) and a walk, scoring twice.  Frank Batista (Cubs) pitched 4.2 innings, allowing one run on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
The game:  Aguilas scored three in the second to take the early lead.  In the eighth, Marte hit a solo homer and Lara hit a two-run shot to put the game out of reach.
