MELBOURNE 2, BRISBANE 0 IN MELBOURNE

Twins: James Beresford (Melbourne) was 1-for-4 and scored once.
Game summary: Melbourne scored single runs in the fourth and fifth.
Brisbane: Ryan Searle pitched a complete game, giving up two runs on seven hits and no walks with five strikeouts. Carlos Alonso (Philadelphia) was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.
Melbourne: Adam Bright struck out eight in seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and two walks. Darryl George (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
