NORFOLK 6, ROCHESTER 4 IN ROCHESTER

Batting stars: Rene Rivera was 3-for-3 with a home run, his third, and a walk. Pedro Florimon was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Tsuyoshi Nishioka was 2-for-5.
Pitching star: Casey Fien struck out three in two perfect innings.
Opposition stars: Joe Mahoney was 3-for-4 with a home run. Brian Roberts was 3-for-5 with two doubles. Cole McCurry struck out four in three shutout innings.
Key inning: The sixth. After the Red Wings had scored two in the fifth to tie the score at four, the Tides used three singles to score two runs and re-take the lead. Rochester manager Gene Glynn was ejected for arguing a play at the plate in the inning.

AKRON 6, NEW BRITAIN 2 IN AKRON

Batting stars: Deibinson Romero was 2-for-4 with a home run, his seventh. Evan Bigley hit a home run, his sixth.
Pitching stars: None.
Opposition stars: Tim Fedroff was 2-for-4 with a home run. Giovanni Soto gave up two runs on five hits and four walks in 5.1 innings. Ex-Twin Loek Van Mil worked a perfect inning.
Key inning: The seventh. Leading 3-2, the Aeros scored twice to take a commanding lead. Two walks and a balk set up a two run single by Ryan Rohlinger.

FORT MYERS AT TAMPA

Postponed. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.

DSL TWINS 2, CUBS1 1 AT TWINS (10 INNINGS)

Batting stars: Ernesto Ciprian was 2-for-4 with a walk. Engelb Vielma was 2-for-4.
Pitching stars: Damian Defrank struck out four in five shutout innings, allowing just one hit. Edgar Martinez threw three shutout innings, surrendering four hits.
Opposition stars: Jose Paniagua was 2-for-4. Juancito De la Cruz struck out six in three shutout innings.
Key inning: The tenth. With the score tied at one, the Twins scored on a single, two hit batsmen, and an infield out.
