ROCHESTER 10, GWINNETT 1 IN ROCHESTER

Batting stars:  Rene Tosoni was 5-for-5, scoring twice and driving in two.  Danny Valencia was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, driving in three. Clete Thomas was 2-for-4 with a two run homer.
Pitching stars:  Jeff Manship went seven strong innings, giving up a run on four hits and a walk while striking out six.  Esmerling Vasquez struck out three in two perfect innings.
Opposition star:  Ernesto Mejia hit a home run.
Key inning:  The third.  In a scoreless tie, the first two Red Wings went out.  Wilkin Ramirez and Chris Parmelee each singled and Valencia hit a three run homer.
Other:  Rochester’s game today will be televised on MLB network.

NEW BRITAIN 10, BINGHAMTON 7 IN NEW BRITAIN

Batting stars:  Chris Herrmann was 4-for-5 with a double, scoring three times.  Nathan Hanson was 2-for-3 with a double and a sacrifice fly.  James Beresford was 2-for-4 with a double, driving in two.
Pitching stars:  Steve Hirschfeld allowed a run on six hits and a walk in five innings.  Caleb Thielbar struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up only one hit.
Opposition stars:  Raul Reyes was 4-for-5 with a home run.  Josh Rodriguez was 3-for-5 with a double and a triple.
Key inning:  The fourth.  With the Rock Cats leading 2-1, Beresford delivered a two out, two run single to stretch the lead.
Other:  New Britain led 10-2 after eight.

FORT MYERS 7, CLEARWATER 1 IN FORT MYERS

Batting stars:  Daniel Ortiz was 3-for-4 with a walk.  Michael Gonzales was 2-for-3 and was hit by a pitch.  Jairo Perez was 2-for-5 with a double and drove in two.
Pitching stars:  Jhon Garcia worked six innings, allowing a run on four hits and a walk.  Edgar Ibarra struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.
Opposition stars:  None.
Key inning:  The first.  In a scoreless tie, an Ortiz walk was followed by consecutive doubles by Perez, Oswaldo Arcia, and Daniel Rohlfing to give the Miracle a 3-0 lead.

BELOIT 4, BURLINGTON 2 IN BURLINGTON

Batting star:  Wang-wei Lin was 2-for-4.
Pitching stars:  Jason Wheeler allowed two runs on eight hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out five.  Michael Tonkin fanned five in two no hit, no walk innings.
Opposition stars:  Bobby Crocker and Eliezer Mesa each went 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Jeff Urlaub worked two perfect innings.
Key inning:  The fifth.  Trailing 2-0, the Snappers struck for four runs on a walk and five singles.  Two of the singles were on bunts.  Matthew Koch andAdam Pettersen each drove in two with their singles.
