Games of June 29

The Red Wings ride good pitching by Stephen Gonsalves and Tyler Duffey.  Andy Wilkins hits a big homer for the Lookouts.  Miguel Sano is hitting in Fort Myers.  Royce Lewis is doubling down.  Ryan Jeffers stays hot for the E-Twins.  Luis Milla leads the DSL Twins.

LEHIGH VALLEY 2, ROCHESTER 1 IN ROCHESTER (10 INNINGS)

A wild pitch and a sacrifice fly plated the lead run in the top of the tenth.  In the bottom half, Zack Granite was thrown out trying to score from second on a sacrifice bunt.
No Red Wing had more than one hit.  Jorge Polanco was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .500.  Byron Buxton was 1-for-5 with a double and is batting .206.
Stephen Gonsalves struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and five walks.  Tyler Duffey struck out five in three perfect innings and has an ERA of 1.69.

CHATTANOOGA 7, TENNESSEE 2 IN TENNESSEE

Andy Wilkins hit a two-run homer in the fifth to put the Lookouts up 5-0.  They never led by less than three after that.
Jaylin Davis was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.  Wilkins was 1-for-4 with a walk in addition to the home run.  He scored twice and is batting .372.
Sean Poppen struck out four in four innings but gave up two runs on three hits and three walks.  Ryan Eades struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up three hits.  Sam Clay struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Tyler Jay pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.

FORT MYERS 6, LAKELAND 1 IN FORT MYERS

The Miracle scored four runs in the third to take a 4-1 lead.  Miguel Sano had a two-run single in the inning.
Sano was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and is batting .333.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-3 with a walk and is batting .306.  Luis Arraez was 1-for-4 and is batting .318.
Tyler Wells struck out eight in 6.2 innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  His ERA is 2.54.  Tom Hackimer pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and two walks and striking out one.

CEDAR RAPIDS 7, BURLINGTON 4 IN BURLINGTON (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

The Kernels scored three in the first and two in the second to take a 5-1 lead.  The Bees scored three in the third to make it 6-4 but could come no closer.
Akil Baddoo was 3-for-5 with a double.  Royce Lewis was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  He is batting .307.  Robby Rinn was 2-for-2 with a double and two walks and is batting .341.  David Banuelos was 2-for-4 with a double.  Jordan Gore was 2-for-4 and is batting .305.
Bailey Ober struck out five in five innings, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk.  Melvi Acosta struck out two in two perfect innings and has an ERA of 2.49.

CEDAR RAPIDS 6, BURLINGTON 3 IN BURLINGTON (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

The Kernels scored two in the first and three in the third to take a 5-1 lead.
Royce Lewis was 3-for-4 with three doubles and is batting .314.  Jordan Gore was 2-for-3 and is batting .311.  Jean Carlos Arias was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and a double.  Akil Baddoo was 2-for-4 with a home run, his eighth.  Robby Rinn was 1-for-4 with a double and is batting .337.  Jared Akins was 0-for-4, making him 0-for-8 in his Class A debut.
Blayne Enlow pitched just four innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks and striking out three.  He threw just 62 pitches.

DANVILLE 6, ELIZABETHTON 5 IN DANVILLE

The Twins scored three in the top of the fifth to take a 5-3 lead, but the Braves got all three back in the bottom of the fifth and that ended the scoring.  The Twins had the bases loaded with two out in the sixth but did not get a man past first after that.
Ryan Jeffers was 3-for-5 and is batting .457.  Trevor Casanova was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs and is batting .391.  Ricky De La Torre was 1-for-3 and is batting .357.  Lean Marrero was 0-for-4 with a walk and is batting .350.  Hunter Lee was 0-for-3, making him 0-for-11 in his professional debut.
It was a bullpen game, with Carlos Suniaga striking out three in 2.2 innings but allowing three runs on four hits and three walks.  Moises Gomez struck out six in three shutout innings, giving up a hit and two walks.  Derek Molina pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and striking out one.

DSL TWINS 5, DSL PHILLIES RED 3 AT TWINS

Francisco Martinez' RBI triple in the sixth tied it 3-3 and the Twins scored two more in the seventh to go into the lead to stay.  Luis Milla had a home run in the seventh.
Milla was 2-for-4 with a home run and is batting .317.  Martinez was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs and is batting .314.  Sergio Toribio was 2-for-4 with two runs.  Brahiap Carrillo was 1-for-4 and is batting .313.
Cristian Castro pitched five innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on one hit and two walks.  Luciano De La Cruz struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Moises Causado pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out one.  His ERA remains zero through three innings.
