VENEZUELAN LEAGUE
Twins: Leonardo Reginatto (Margarita) was 0-for-3. Gregorio Petit (Caracas) was 1-for-2 with a walk. Anderson Munoz (Zulia) pitched two innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk.
LARA 2, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA
Carlos Rivero hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give Lara a 2-1 lead. Margarita left the bases loaded in the fifth, left men on first and second in the seventh, and left the bases loaded in the eighth. They stranded fourteen and were 1-for-11 with men in scoring position. For Lara, Rivero was 2-for-4 with a double in addition to his fifth home run. Williams Perez pitched 4.1 innings and gave up just one run despite allowing five hits and five walks. He struck out two. For Margarita, Jay Gause pitched five innings, giving up two runs on three hits and one walk and striking out two.
ZULIA 10, CARACAS 1 IN ZULIA
Zulia scored four in the second and led 8-0 after four. Jose Flores was 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and a home run, his second. Reynaldo Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and a home run, his second. Argenis Diaz was 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. Wilfredo Boscan pitched six shutout innings, giving up five hits and a walk and striking out four. Leobaldo Pina hit a home run for the lone Caracas run.
