Games of November 1

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

Twins:  LaMonte Wade was 0-for-3 with a walk.  Sean Miller was 1-for-4.
MESA 8, SURPRISE 5 IN SURPRISE
Surprise led 2-0 after four and 2-1 after six, but Mesa scored five in the seventh and was in control the rest of the way.  Kelvin Gutierrez (Washington) was 3-for-5.  Jason Vosler (Cubs) was 2-for-3 with a home run (his second), a double, and two walks.  Victor Robles (Washington) hit a three-run homer, his second, and Taylor Gushue (Washington) hit a home run, his second.  For Surprise, Yanio Perez (Texas) was 3-for-4 and Burch Smith (Tampa Bay) pitched four shutout innings, giving up one hit but six walks while striking out two.
SALT RIVER 6, GLENDALE 0 IN SALT RIVER
Ryan Mountcastle (Baltimore) hit a two-run double in a three-run sixth that put Salt River up 4-0.  James Needy (Miami) pitched four shutout innings, giving up two hits and one walk while striking out one.  Andrew Sopko (Dodgers) pitched four shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk while striking out two.
SCOTTSDALE 7, PEORIA 5 IN PEORIA
Eric Filia (Seattle) hit a three-run homer in the sixth to tie it 4-4, but Thairo Estrada (Yankees) hit a two-run single in a three-run seventh to put Scottsdale in the lead to stay.  Taylor Sparks (Cincinnati) hit two home runs, giving him three on the season.  Joan Gregorio (San Francisco) pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out one.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Twins:  Leonardo Reginatto (Margarita) was 2-for-3.  Daniel Palka (Magallanes) was 0-for-2 with two walks.
ZULIA 9, LA GUAIRA 1 IN LA GUAIRA
Zulia scored three in the fourth, one in the fifth, and four in the sixth to build an 8-1 lead.  Hector Gimenez was 4-for-4 with a home run and a double, scoring three times and driving in four.  David Vidal was 3-for-4 with a home run, his sixth.  Elieser Hernandez struck out six in 3.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks.
ARAGUA 7, ANZOATEGUI 6 IN ARAGUA
It was 2-0 Aragua after five.  Anzoategui scored four in the top of the sixth, but Aragua scored five in the bottom of the sixth to lead 7-4. Anzoategui scored one in the eighth and one in the ninth and had the tying run thrown out at the plate trying to score from second on a single.  Carlos Penalver was 3-for-5 with a triple and a double.  Robert Zarate pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  For Anzoategui, Niuman Romero was 4-for-4 with a double, a walk, and three RBIs.
MARGARITA 4, CARACAS 3 IN MARGARITA
It was 3-0 through the top of the fifth, but Margarita scored two in the fifth and two in the sixth.  Reginatto led Margarita, going 2-for-3.  Felix Perez hit a home run for Caracas.
LARA 4, MAGALLANES 3 IN LARA
Jesus Montero hit a two-run homer in the fourth to put Lara up 2-1 and they led the rest of the way, although never by more than two runs.  Montero's home run was his fifth.  Yoanner Negrin pitched five innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Luis Torrens was 3-for-4 for Magallanes and Jesus Valdez hit a home run, his seventh, for Magallanes.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.
MEXICALI 3, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN MEXICALI
Walter Ibarra's two-run single in the fifth put Mexicali ahead 3-0.  Los Mochis scored two in the seventh but had their last eight batters retired.  Ibarra was 3-for-4 with a home run, his fourth, and three RBIs.  Miguel Pena pitched three shutout innings, giving up four hits and four walks with two strikeouts.
JALISCO 9, HERMOSILLO 6 IN HERMOSILLO
Jalisco led 4-0 after one but trailed 6-5 after five.  In the sixth, however, Jalisco scored three times to take the lead to stay, with a two-run single by Amadeo Zazueta providing the go-ahead runs.  Zazueta was 3-for-5.  Domonic Brown was 3-for-4 with a walk for Hermosillo.
OBREGON 6, NAVOJOA 2 IN NAVOJOA
Irving Falu's two-run single in the seventh to break a 2-2 tie and give Obregon the lead to stay.  Carlos Valencia was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his third.  Marco Antonio Duarte struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on two hits and four walks.  For Navojoa, Eddie Gamboa struck out seven in six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and no walks.
CULIACAN 7, MAZATLAN 3 IN MAZATLAN
Culiacan trailed 3-2 after eight but scored five in the ninth to win it.  Anthony Vasquez pitched 6.2 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  David Hurlbut (Licey) started and pitched 4.1 innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out one.
AGUILAS 2, ESCOGIDO 1 IN ESCOGIDO
The Aguilas scored two runs in the first and made it stand up.  Juan Perez hit a home run, his second.  Francisley Bueno pitched five shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk while striking out three.
ESTRELLAS 7, GIGANTES 6 AT GIGANTES
The Estrellas led 7-2 after five and a half and held on.  The Gigantes had men on second and third with two out in the ninth.  Junior Lake was 4-for-5 with a home run (his third), a double, and four runs.  Alexis Candelario pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two.  For the Gigantes, Rosell Herrera hit a home run, his second.
TOROS 11, LICEY 9 AT TOROS
Licey led 7-2 after four and a half, but the Toros scored three in the fifth and five in the sixth to go into the lead to stay.  Cristhian Adames was 4-for-4.  Teoscar Hernandez was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and two walks, scoring three times.  Dawel Lugo was 3-for-5 for Licey.
