Games of June 16

Stephen Gonsalves and Nick Gordon lead the Red Wings to victory.  A big day for James Ramsey.  The Kernels blow it in the ninth.  Anthony Escobar leads the DSL Twins to their sixth straight win.

ROCHESTER 6, BUFFALO 2 IN BUFFALO (10 INNINGS)

Rowdy Tellez hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to tie it 2-2 and bring on the Manfred Rule.  In the tenth, two walks loaded the bases and Nick Gordon hit a "grand slam", circling the bases on a single-plus error.  The Bisons went down in order in the bottom of the tenth.
Wynston Sawyer was 2-for-3 with a walk and is batting .333.  Gordon was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Jake Cave was 2-for-5.
Stephen Gonsalves pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and three walks and striking out five.  It was his first good game since May 24.  Tyler Duffey pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits.  His ERA is 1.23.  Gabriel Moya pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.  His ERA is 1.78.

CHATTANOOGA 12, BIRMINGHAM 2 IN BIRMINGHAM (5 1/2 INNINGS--RAIN)

Already leading 6-2, the Lookouts scored six in the top of the sixth and made it easier to call the game.  Andy Wilkins had a three-run homer in the inning.
James Ramsey was 4-for-4 with a three-run homer (his fourth) and scored four times.  Wilkins was 2-for-4 with a home run (his third) and drove in four.  He is batting .381.  Brent Rooker was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Chris Paul was 2-for-4.  Mitchell Kranson was 2-for-4 and is batting .333.  Jimmy Kerrigan was 2-for-4 and is batting .313.
Sean Poppen struck out five in a five-inning complete game, giving up two runs on five hits and no walks.

FORT MYERS MIRACLE

No game scheduled.  It was, however, the day of the FSL All-Star game, won by the North 5-0.  Jaylin Davis played the entire game and was 1-for-3.  Travis Blankenhorn was 0-for-2.  Lewin Diaz was 1-for-3 with a double.  Taylor Grzelakowski was 0-for-1.
Andrew Vasquez pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.  Tyler Wells struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

PEORIA 5, CEDAR RAPIDS 3 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

It could have been an organizational sweep, but the Kernels blew a 3-0 lead in the ninth.  Cedar Rapids pitchers walked two batters and hit two others in the inning.  Matt Fiedler brought home the lead runs with a two-run double.
Akil Baddoo was 2-for-4 with a home run, his seventh.  Royce Lewis was 2-for-4 and is batting .302.  He came out of the game in the eighth inning due to a knee problem that is "not believed to be serious".  We'll see, I guess.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-4 and is batting .331.
Edwar Colina pitched six shutout innings, giving up five hits and no walks and striking out two.  He came out after just seventy pitches.

DSL TWINS 6, DSL NATIONALS 1 AT NATIONALS

Leading 1-0, the Twins scored four in the third to take control and get their sixth consecutive win.  Back-to-back triples by Jesus Feliz and Ruben Santana ignited the rally.
Wander Valdez was 2-for-4 with a double.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.  He scored twice and is batting .379.  Victor Heredia was 0-for-2 and is batting .351.  Santana was 1-for-4 and is batting .314.
Anthony Escobar pitched seven shutout innings, giving up two hits and no walks and striking out two.  His ERA is 0.92.  Danny Moreno pitched a perfect inning.  His ERA remains zero in two innings.
