Games of May 7

Wynston Sawyer's grand slam leads the Red Wings.  Alex Perez' triple leads the Lookouts.  Lewin Diaz hits his fourth homer.  Royce Lewis just keeps hitting.

ROCHESTER 7, BUFFALO 3 IN ROCHESTER

Wynston Sawyer hit a grand slam in a five-run seventh that gave the Red Wings a 5-2 lead.  They never led by less than three after that.
Sawyer was 2-for-4 and is batting .400.  Brock Stassi was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Taylor Featherston was 2-for-4.  James Ramsey was 2-for-4.  Leonardo Reginatto was 2-for-5 with a triple.  Jermaine Curtis was 2-for-5 with a double.  Myles Jaye had his second good game in his last three, going six innings and giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk and striking out two.  Luke Bard struck out the side in the ninth, keeping his ERA at zero through three innings.

CHATTANOOGA 6, JACKSON 4 IN CHATTANOOGA

Alex Perez hit a three-run triple to break a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning.
Chris Paul was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  Perez was 2-for-4 and is batting .375.  Edgar Corcino was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.  Brian Navarreto was 2-for-4 with a double.  Zander Weil was 2-for-4 and is batting .327.  Nick Gordon was 0-for-4 and is batting .324.  Lewis Thorpe pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three runs on eight hits and three walks and striking out five.  Cody Stashak pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk and striking out one.

CHARLOTTE 7, FORT MYERS 5 IN FORT MYERS

The Stone Crabs scored one in the second to take a 2-1 lead and led the rest of the way.  A two-run sixth made the score 6-3 and the Miracle did not get closer than two after that.
Jaylin Davis was 3-for-5.  Lewin Diaz was 2-for-5 with a home run (his fourth) and three RBIs.  Luis Arraez was 2-for-5 with two runs.  Joe Cronin was 0-for-3 and is batting .309.  Robby Rinn was 1-for-3 with a double and is batting .300.  Sean Poppen struck out six in four innings but allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks.

DAYTON 3, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN DAYTON

The Dragons took a 2-0 lead in the fourth and led the rest of the way.  The Kernels had men on first and second with one out in the ninth, but a pair of fly outs ended the game.
Royce Lewis was 3-for-5 and is batting .372.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-5 with a double.  Jordan Gore was 1-for-4 and is batting .326.  Edwar Colina pitched 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on two hits and six walks (!) and striking out two.  His ERA is 1.47.  Carlos Suniaga struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  His ERA is 2.53.  Jose Martinez pitched a perfect inning.
