Games of April 25

Jose Berrios has nothing to learn in Rochester.  Niko Goodrum's two-run homer produces the winning run for the Red Wings.  The Lookouts get no runs and five hits over 14 innings, but Nik Turley was awesome anyway.  Eduardo Del Rosario was pretty darn good, too.
ROCHESTER 5, GWINNETT 4 IN ROCHESTER
The Red Wings scored three in the seventh to go up 3-2, but the Braves got two in the eighth to take a 4-3 lead.  No problem, as Niko Goodrum hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to give Rochester a 5-4 advantage and eventual win.
Jose Berrios struck out ten in six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks.  J. T. Chargois pitched a scoreless inning, keeping his ERA at zero through 2.2 innings.  Ehire Adrianza, making his Red Wings debut, went 2-for-4.  Daniel Palka was 2-for-3 with a walk and is batting .311.  Goodrum was 2-for-4 and the home run was his second.  J. B. Shuck was 2-for-4 with a triple.  Leonardo Reginatto was 0-for-3 and is batting .349.  Matt Hague was 0-for-2 with a walk and is batting .323.
Former Phillies star Ryan Howard is now playing for Gwinnett.  He went 1-for-4.
TENNESSEE 2, CHATTANOOGA 0 IN CHATTANOOGA (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)
There was no score until the seventh.  With two out and none on, an error, a single, and a walk loaded the bases.  Andrew Ely then delivered a two-run single for the game's only runs.  Nick Gordon led off the first with a single and the Lookouts did not get another hit the rest of the game.
Fernando Romero pitched 6.2 innings, giving up two unearned runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts.  Gordon went 1-for-3 to keep his average at .333.  Engelb Vielma was 0-for-2 with a walk and was batting .328.  Jose Gonzalez was 0-for-3 and was batting .333.
TENNESSEE 1, CHATTANOOGA 0 IN CHATTANOOGA (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)
The Lookouts got four hits in this game, but the same number of runs.  The Smokies scored in the first on a walk, a stolen base, a bunt, and a ground out, and that was it.  Chattanooga loaded the bases in the sixth on a single and two walks, but Dan Rohlfing struck out to end the inning.
Nik Turley struck out fourteen in a complete game loss, giving up one run on two hits and two walks.  He threw 97 pitches.  He ended his performance by striking out eight batters in a row.  For the season, Turley has struck out 36 in 20.1 innings, giving up one run on six hits and five walks.  That's an ERA of 0.44 and a WHIP of 0.54.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-4 and is batting .343.  Engelb Vielma was 0-for-0 with two walks and a sacrifice and remains at .328.
FORT MYERS 7, BRADENTON 3 IN FORT MYERS
The Miracle scored four times in the bottom of the seventh to break a 3-3 tie.  Nelson Molina singled home one, Casey Scoggins singled home two, and a sacrifice fly brought in the fourth run.  The Marauders did not threaten after that.  Fort Myers was out-hit by Bradenton 11-7.
Dereck Rodriguez pitched 6.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts.  Nick Anderson pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, leaving his ERA at zero through 7.1 innings.  He has given up four hits and a walk with six strikeouts.  Scoggins and Molina were each 2-for-3.  Chris Paul was 1-for-3 and is batting .338.
CEDAR RAPIDS 2, BURLINGTON 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS
It was scoreless through five.  Jermaine Palacios led off the sixth with a triple (his fourth) and scored on a wild pitch.  Jaylin Davis' RBi single later in the inning made it 2-0.  The Bees did not score until the ninth, when an error, a wild pitch, and a ground out put them on the board.  Burlington did not get the tying run on base.
Eduardo Del Rosario struck out ten in seven shutout innings, giving up five hits and a walk.  Alex Robinson and Tom Hackimer each pitched a scoreless inning.  Palacios was 2-for-4 and is batting .403.  Mitchell Kranson was 1-for-4 with a double and is batting .333.  Ben Rortvedt was 0-for-3 and is batting .093/.093/.116 in 43 at-bats.
