The Red Wings Kratz one away. The New Britain offense was worse than Minnesota's. Elizabethton tried to make up for both of them.
BUFFALO 7, ROCHESTER 6 IN ROCHESTER
Batting stars: Eric Farris was 2-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in two. Doug Bernier was 3-for-5 with a run.
Pitching star: A. J. Achter retired all four batters he faced, striking out one.
Opposition stars: Erik Kratz was 2-for-5 with a home run (his third) and a double, scoring twice and driving in three. Ryan Goins was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Austin Bibens-Dirkx pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit with one strikeout.
The game: Buffalo scored three in the second to take a 3-1 lead, but Rochester came roaring back with five in the third. Brad Nelson hit a two-run single, Farris delivered a two-run double, and Pedro Florimon drove in the fifth run with a double. All the runs scored with two-out. That was it for the Red Wings offense, however, and the Bisons eventually came back. Kratz had a two-run double and came around to score in the seventh to tie the game at six. In the ninth it was Kratz again, hitting a two-out home run to give Buffalo a 7-6 advantage. The last eleven Rochester batters were retired.
Of note: Deibinson Romero was 0-for-4. Chris Herrmann was 0-for-4 with an RBI. Florimon was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Starter Sean Gilmartin pitched 6.1 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts.
NEW HAMPSHIRE 2, NEW BRITAIN 0 IN NEW HAMPSHIRE (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)
Batting star: Stephen Wickens was 1-for-2 with a double.
Pitching star: Jason Wheeler pitched a complete game, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Radhames Liz struck out eight in a complete game, allowing two hits and no walks. Mike Crouse was 2-for-3 with a home run (his fifth) and a double. Jon Berti was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk, scoring once.
The game: Berti and Mike McDade each doubled in the first inning to give New Hampshire a 1-0 lead. Crouse hit a solo homer with one out in the fourth to make it 2-0. New Britain's first hit came in the third when Wickens hit a two-out double. Their second hit came in the seventh, when Eddie Rosario hit a one-out single. That was it for the Rock Cats offense.
Of note: Brad Boyer was 0-for-3. Rosario was 1-for-3. Reynaldo Rodriguez was 0-for-3.
NEW BRITAIN AT NEW HAMPSHIRE (GAME 2)
The game was suspended after two innings due to inclement weather. New Britain scored both of their runs in the first, with one scoring on an error and the other on a Lance Ray triple.

ELIZABETHTON 15, JOHNSON CITY 7 IN JOHNSON CITY
Batting stars: Max Murphy was 3-for-3 with a home run (his fifth), a double, and two walks, scoring twice and driving in four. Alex Real was 3-for-6 with two doubles and three RBIs. Trey Vavra was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring three times and driving in one.
Pitching stars: Cameron Booser struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit. Dereck Rodriguez struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.
Opposition stars: Blake Drake was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in one. Casey Turgeon was 3-for-4 with three runs.
The game: Each team scored three times in the first inning. Drake doubled in a run in the second to give Johnson City a 4-3 lead. It was their last lead of the game. Murphy homered leading off the third to tie it up and kick off a three-run inning that gave Elizabethton a 6-4 lead. The Cardinals closed to within one at 8-7 after five, but the Twins got two in the sixth, two in the seventh, and three in the ninth for a big win.
Of note: Jeremias Pineda was 2-for-6 with four runs and an RBI. Nick Gordon was 2-for-5 with a walk and three runs. Tyler Kuresa was 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch and two RBIs. Starter Michael Cederoth pitched five innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on seven hits and no walks with two strikeouts.
GCL ORIOLES AT GCL TWINS

DSL TWINS 6, DSL ORIOLES1 5 AT TWINS
Batting stars: Jermaine Palacios was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs. Jorge Parra was 1-for-2 with three walks and two runs. Francisco Hernandez was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.
Pitching star: Robener Cabrera pitched four shutout innings of relief, giving up one hit with two strikeouts.
Opposition stars: Jorge Gil was 1-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one. Manuel De Los Santos was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The game: Luis Arraez singled in a run in the second to put the Twins up 1-0. Gil tripled in a run in the fourth and scored later in the inning to put the Orioles1 up 2-1, but the Twins tied it in the bottom of the fourth on an error. In the fifth, an error plated two and a wild pitch brought home a third to give the Orioles1 a 5-2 advantage. The Twins got two in the seventh but still trailed 5-4 going to the bottom of the ninth. Two walks and a single loaded the bases with none out. Jorge Andrade singled in the tying run and Junior Amarante singled in the winning run.
Of note: Gabriel A. Ynfante was 1-for-5. Amarante was 2-for-5 with a walk and an RBI. Antonio Tovar was 0-for-4. Roni Tapia was 0-for-3 with two walks. Starter Williams Ramirez pitched five innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
