Venezuelan League: Games of October 30


LA GUAIRA 8, ARAGUA 6 IN LA GUAIRA

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks, scoring twice.  Angel Mata (Aragua) worked two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk while striking out one.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) retired the only man he faced.
Game summary:  Scott Van Slyke hit a walk-off, two-run homer with no one out in the ninth.
Aragua:  Alex Romero was 4-for-5 with a double and scored twice.  Ramon Castro was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk and scored once.
La Guaira:  Van Slyke (Dodgers) was 4-for-5 with three home runs, driving in four.  Ehire Adrianza (San Francisco) was 2-for-5 with two doubles, scoring twice and driving in one.

ZULIA 4, ANZOATEGUI 3 IN ZULIA

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was used as a reserve and was 0-for-1.
Game summary:  Zulia took the lead with a run in the seventh and got an insurance run with one in the eighth.
Anzoategui:  Jake Goebbert was 2-for-3 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one.  Gorkys Hernandez (Miami) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Zulia:  Ernesto Mejia (Atlanta) was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run.  Henry Rodriguez (Cincinnati) was 2-for-5 with a double and scored once.

MAGALLANES 4, CARACAS 2 IN MAGALLANES

Game summary:  Magallanes scored two in the eighth to break a 2-2 tie.
Caracas:  J. C. Boscan was 2-for-4.  Jhoulys Chacin gave up a run on four hits in five innings.
Magallanes:  Carlos Maldonado was 2-for-4 with a home run and scored twice.  Eliezer Alfonzo was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
