Mexican League: Games of October 31


HERMOSILLO 6, GUASAVE 5 IN HERMOSILLO (10 INNINGS)

Twins:  Chris Colabello (Guasave) was 1-for-4 and scored once.
Game summary:  Jesse Gutierrez led off the bottom of the tenth with a walkoff homer.
Guasave:  Japhet Amador was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, driving in two.  Jose Felix (Texas) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Hermosillo:  Walter Ibarra was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and a walk, scoring twice.  Jose Aguilar was 1-for-1 with a home run and three walks.

LOS MOCHIS 3, MAZATLAN 0 IN LOS MOCHIS

Game summary:  Sandy Madera’s two-run homer capped a three-run first, producing all the game’s runs.
Mazatlan:  Humberto Sosa was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Guadencio Aguirre worked two perfect innings.
Los Mochis:  Tomas Solis pitched six innings, allowing four hits and no walks.  Madera was 2-for-4.

OBREGON 2, CULIACAN 0 IN CULIACAN

Game summary:  Obregon scored both their runs in the seventh inning.
Obregon:  Rolando Valdez struck out eight in six innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Willy Taveras was 2-for-4 with a double.
Culiacan:  Marlon Byrd was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Alfonso Sanchez allowed two runs on six hits and no walks in 6.1 innings.

MEXICALI 5, NAVOJOA 1 IN NAVOJOA (GAME 1—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Game summary:  Leading 2-1, Mexicali scored three in the fifth to take control.
Mexicali:  Jorge Campillo allowed one run on four hits and no walks in six innings.  Issmael Salas was 3-for-3, scoring once and driving in two.
Navojoa:  Wes Bankston was 2-for-3 with a home run.  Kraig Binick was 2-for-3.

NAVOJOA 10, MEXICALI 7 IN NAVOJOA (GAME 2—10 INNINGS—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Game Summary:  Steve Moss hit a walkoff three-run homer in the tenth.
Mexicali:  Chris Roberson was 3-for-4 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Jorge Guzman was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Navojoa:  Francisco Arias was 4-for-6 with a double and scored three times.  Steve Moss was 2-for-5 with two three-run homers.
