AFL Games of November 1


PEORIA 7, MESA 3 IN MESA

Twins:  Nate Roberts was 4-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Evan Bigley was 3-for-5 with a triple, scoring twice and driving in one.  Dan Rohlfing was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Michael Tonkin pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.  Logan Darnell allowed a run on two hits and two walks while striking out two in two-thirds of an inning.
Game summary:  Peoria scored four in the sixth to break a 2-2 tie.
Peoria:  Vinnie Catricala (Seattle) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Travis Mattair (Cincinnati) was 2-for-3 and scored twice.
Mesa:  Matt Szczur (Cubs) was 3-for-5 with a home run, driving in two.  Bobby Borchering (Houston) was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.

PHOENIX 5, SALT RIVER 2 IN SALT RIVER

Game summary:  Phoenix scored single runs in the third, fifth, sixth, seventh, and ninth.  Salt River did not score until the seventh.
Phoenix:  Kyle Jensen (Miami) was 3-for-3 with a triple, a home run, and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Josh Prince (Milwaukee) was 3-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring twice and driving in one.
Salt River:  Andy Wilkins (White Sox) was 2-for-5 with two doubles, driving in one.  Paul Demny (Washington) pitched two shutout innings.

SURPRISE 6, SCOTTSDALE 1 IN SCOTTSDALE

Game summary:  Surprise scored two in the second to take the lead and two in the ninth to put it away.
Surprise:  Hanser Alberto (Texas) was 2-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Chris McGuiness (Texas) was 2-for-5 with a double and drove in one.
Scottsdale:  Slade Heathcott (Yankees) was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.  Alex Monsalve (Cleveland) was 2-for-3.
