Venezuelan League: Games of November 2


CARACAS 8, ARAGUA 2 IN CARACAS

Twins:  Josmil Pinto (Aragua) was used as a reserve and went 1-for-1.  His hit was a double which drove in a run.  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was used as a reserve and went 0-for-2.  Edgar Ibarra (Aragua) pitched five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks while striking out two.
Game summary:  Leading 2-1, Caracas scored six in the eighth to take control.
Aragua:  Ramon Castro was 2-for-4.  Jorge Rondon (St. Louis) pitched two shutout innings.
Caracas:  Yoanner Negrin (Cubs) struck out eight in six shutout innings, allowing only three hits and a walk.  Brandon Barnes (Houston) was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in two.

MARGARITA 3, LARA 2 IN MARGARITA (10 INNINGS)

Twins:  Aaron Hicks (Margarita) was 0-for-5.  Sean Burroughs (Margarita) was used as a pinch-hitter and went 1-for-1.
Game summary:  Javier Brito singled in the winning run in the tenth.
Lara:  Ryan Feierabend struck out six in six innings, giving up one run on five hits and no walks.  Gabriel Noriega (Seattle) was 3-for-4 and drove in a run.
Margarita:  Brito was 2-for-5 with a home run.  Max Ramirez (Kansas City) was 3-for-4 with a double.

MAGALLANES 10, ANZOATEGUI 4 IN MAGALLANES

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 2-for-4, scoring once and driving in one.  Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) surrendered three runs on three hits and a walk in one inning.
Game summary:  Magallanes took the early lead with three in the first and put it away with three in the sixth.
Anzoategui:  Gorkys Hernandez (Miami) was 2-for-3 and scored once.
Magallanes:  Chris Nowak was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice and driving in four.  Darwin Perez (Angels) was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk, scoring three times.

ZULIA 8, LA GUAIRA 1 IN ZULIA

Game summary:  Zulia scored five in the second and was never threatened.
La Guaira:  Darin Ruf (Philadelphia) homered and walked.  Wilfredo Ramirez retired all five men he faced.
Zulia:  Josh Schmidt (Miami) allowed one run on two hits and two walks in seven innings.  Ernesto Mejia (Atlanta) was 3-for-4 with two home runs, scoring twice and driving in two.
