Mexican League: Games of October 31


HERMOSILLO 6, GUASAVE 5 IN HERMOSILLO (10 INNINGS)

Twins:  Chris Colabello (Guasave) was 1-for-4 and scored once.
Game summary:  Jesse Gutierrez led off the bottom of the tenth with a walkoff homer.
Guasave:  Japhet Amador was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, driving in two.  Jose Felix (Texas) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Hermosillo:  Walter Ibarra was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and a walk, scoring twice.  Jose Aguilar was 1-for-1 with a home run and three walks.

LOS MOCHIS 3, MAZATLAN 0 IN LOS MOCHIS

Game summary:  Sandy Madera’s two-run homer capped a three-run first, producing all the game’s runs.
Mazatlan:  Humberto Sosa was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Guadencio Aguirre worked two perfect innings.
Los Mochis:  Tomas Solis pitched six innings, allowing four hits and no walks.  Madera was 2-for-4.

OBREGON 2, CULIACAN 0 IN CULIACAN

Game summary:  Obregon scored both their runs in the seventh inning.
Obregon:  Rolando Valdez struck out eight in six innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Willy Taveras was 2-for-4 with a double.
Culiacan:  Marlon Byrd was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Alfonso Sanchez allowed two runs on six hits and no walks in 6.1 innings.

Game summary:  Leading 2-1, Mexicali scored three in the fifth to take control.

Game Summary:  Steve Moss hit a walkoff three-run homer in the tenth.
Mexicali:  Chris Roberson was 3-for-4 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Jorge Guzman was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Venezuelan League: Games of October 31


MAGALLANES 10, ARAGUA 5 IN ARAGUA

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was used as a reserve, drawing a walk and scoring in his only plate appearance.  Josmil Pinto (Aragua) was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  David Bromberg (Aragua) surrendered six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four in three innings.  Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) worked a scoreless inning, allowing a hit and a walk.
Game summary:  Magallanes scored four in the first and was never threatened.
Magallanes:  Chris Nowak was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer.  Carlos Maldonado was 2-for-5 with a double and a first-inning grand slam.
Aragua:  Jae-Hoon Ha (Cubs) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Ramon Castro was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.

LARA 5, MARGARITA 2 IN MARGARITA

Twins:  Aaron Hicks was 0-for-2 with a walk and a sacrifice bunt, scoring once.  Sean Burroughs was 0-for-4 and struck out once.
Game summary:  Lara scored two in the sixth to break a 2-2 tie, adding an insurance run in the seventh.
Lara:  Luis Valbuena (Cubs) was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk.  Robert Perez was 2-for-4 and drove in two.
Margarita:  Wilmer Flores (Mets) was 2-for-4.  Henry Blanco (Arizona) was 0-for-1 with a walk and a sacrifice fly.

Game summary:  Zulia scored both of its runs in the first inning.

Game summary:  Trailing 6-1, La Guaira scored one in the seventh, three in the eighth, and two in the ninth.  Rafael Alvarez delivered a pinch-hit, two-run, walkoff homer.

SURPRISE 6, PEORIA 4 IN SURPRISE

Twins:  Nate Roberts was 1-for-5 and struck out once.  Evan Bigley was 0-for-4 and struck out twice.
Game summary:  Surprise overcame a 4-0 lead with three in the fifth and three in the seventh.
Peoria:  Rymer Liriano (San Diego) was 3-for-5, scoring once and driving in one.  Stefen Romero (Seattle) was 2-for-5, scoring twice and driving in one.
Surprise:  Hanser Alberto (Texas) was 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in two.  Colin Walsh (St. Louis) was 2-for-4 and drove in two.

SCOTTSDALE 6, PHOENIX 2 IN SCOTTSDALE

Game summary:  Scottsdale scored four in the fourth to break a scoreless tie.
Phoenix:  Yordy Cabrera (Miami) was 2-for-4 and drove in a run.  Krhis Davis (Milwaukee) was 0-for-1 but walked three times.
Scottsdale:  T. J. House (Cleveland) struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.  Chris Dominguez (San Francisco) was 3-for-4 with a home run and scored twice.

SALT RIVER 2, MESA 2 IN MESA (9 INNINGS)

Game summary:  Rafael Ynoa (Dodgers) singled in the tying run for Mesa in the ninth.
Salt River:  Ryan Tepera (Toronto) struck out five in five innings, giving up five hits and a walk.  Corey Dickerson (Colorado) was 2-for-3 and drove in a run.
Mesa:  Ynoa was 2-for-4 and drove in a run.  Luke Putkonen (Detroit) allowed one run on two hits and a walk in four innings.

Dominican League: Games of October 30


AGUILAS 4, ORIENTE 3 IN AGUILAS

Twins:  Miguel Sano (Oriente) was 1-for-3 with a run and struck out once.  Drew Butera (Oriente) was used as a reserve and was 0-for-1.  Luis Perdomo (Aguilas) pitched a scoreless innings, walking one and striking out one.
Game summary:  Chris Coghlan (Miami) tripled in the winning run in the ninth inning.
Oriente:  Luis Jimenez (Angels) was 2-for-3 with a double, driving in one.  Daniel Robertson (San Diego) was 2-for-5 with a double.
Aguilas:  Hector Luna (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring once and driving in two.  Coghlan was 2-for-3 with a walk.

CIBAO 9, ESCOGIDO 4 IN ESCOGIDO (11 INNINGS)

Twins:  Pedro Florimon (Escogido) was 2-for-5 with an RBI, striking out once.
Game summary:  Cibao scored five times in the eleventh.
Cibao:  Jimmy Paredes (Houston) was 3-for-5 with a home run, scoring twice.  Carlos Peguero (Seattle) was 2-for-5, scoring once and driving in one.

Game summary:  Navojoa scored four in the eighth to break a 3-3 tie, then held off a Mexicali rally in the ninth.

Game summary:  Scottsdale broke a scoreless tie with three in the third, then put the game away with five in the fourth.
Scottsdale:  Bobby Cassevah (Angels) struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up three hits and one walk.  Slade Heathcott (Yankees) was 4-for-5 with a double and two triples, scoring twice and driving in five.
Peoria:  Cory Spangenberg (San Diego) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Jeudy Valdez (San Diego) was 1-for-2 with two walks and scored once.

Game summary:  Mesa scored four in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead, then got two in the ninth to go up 7-4.
