GUASAVE 6, NAVOJOA 5 IN GUASAVE
Navojoa: Rolando Acosta was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Luis Fonseca was 3-for-5 with a run. Fernando Flores was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his second.
Guasave: Baltazar Lopez was 1-for-1 with a walk and a two-run homer, his second. Jose Rodriguez was 1-for-2 with a walk and three runs. Juan Delgadillo pitched six innings, allowing one run on six hits and three walks with one strikeout.
The game: Guasave got two in the first and built the lead to 5-1 after seven. In the ninth for Navojoa, an error scored one and a three-run homer by Flores tied the score at five. In the ninth, Rodriguez was hit by a pitch and took second on a wild pitch. Following a one-out intentional walk, a double steal put runners on second and third. Another intentional walk loaded the bases with two out and Gabriel Gutierrez singled in the winning run.
MAZATLAN 4, CULIACAN 2 IN MAZATLAN
Culiacan: Maxwell Leon was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run. Jorge Cantu was 2-for-4 with a run. Daniel Rodriguez (Atlanta) struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on two hits and two walks.
Mazatlan: Blake Gailen was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and two RBIs. Issmael Salas was 3-for-4 with a double and a run. Alejandro Martinez struck out nine in six shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks.
The game: Gailen singled in a run in the fourth to put Mazatlan up 1-0 and homered in the sixth to make it 2-0. Alberto Carreon hit an RBI triple in the seventh and later came around to score to give Mazatlan a 4-0 lead. Culiacan got single runs in the eighth and ninth and had the tying run on base with two out in the ninth.
MEXICALI 6, LOS MOCHIS 4 IN MEXICALI
Los Mochis: Yancarlo Angulo was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run (his fourth), driving in two. Brian Burgamy was 1-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring twice and driving in one. Saul Soto was 1-for-2 with two walks and a double.
Mexicali: Chris Roberson was 2-for-5 with two home runs (his ninth and tenth), scoring three times. Ben Guez (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double, driving in two. Misael Silverio struck out six in five innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks.
The game: Roberson homered in the first and Antonio Lamas (Oakland) had an RBI double in the second to put Mexicali up 2-0. Each team scored in the third. A two-run single by Guez made it 5-1 Mexicali after five. Los Mochis got one in the sixth and Angulo hit a two-run homer in the eighth to close to within one at 5-4, but an Oscar Robles RBI single brought home an insurance run for Mexicali. Los Mochis went down in order in the ninth.
HERMOSILLO 5, OBREGON 1 IN OBREGON
Hermosillo: Jesus Loya (Boston) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and three RBIs. Jonathan Aceves was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in one. Hector Galvan pitched five innings, giving up one run on two hits and three walks.
Obregon: Dan Robertson (San Diego) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Marco Carrillo pitched six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
The game: Obregon scored on a double play to take a 1-0 lead in the first, but it went downhill from there. A two-run single by Loya capped a three-run fourth to put Hermosillo in the lead. Hermosillo added two in the ninth to put it out of reach. Obregon had only one hit after the first inning.
