ROCHESTER 5, NORFOLK 2 IN ROCHESTER

Batting stars: Deibinson Romero was 3-for-4 and scored once. Oswaldo Arcia was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his ninth. Eduardo Escobar was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Pitching stars: Andrew Albers pitched a complete game, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
Opposition stars: Zelous Wheeler was 2-for-4. Luis Exposito was 1-for-3 with a home run.
Key inning: The fourth. It was a scoreless tie. Chris Parmelee opened the inning with a single and Arcia followed with a two-run homer to give the Red Wings the lead.
Prospect watch: Parmelee was 1-for-4 and scored once.

READING 7, NEW BRITAIN 2 IN READING

Batting stars: Adam Pettersen was 2-for-2 with two walks. Eddie Rosario was 2-for-5 with an RBI.
Pitching stars: None.
Opposition stars: Maikel Franco was 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs. Kelly Dugan was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer. Mario Hollands struck out five in six innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks.
Key inning: The eighth. The Fightin Phils led 4-2. A single and a walk put runners on first and second with one out and Franco hit a three-run homer to put the game out of reach.
Prospect watch: Nate Hanson was 0-for-4. Josmil Pinto was 1-for-3 with a walk.

FORT MYERS 7, CLEARWATER 3 IN FORT MYERS

Batting stars: Byron Buxton was 2-for-3 with two walks and two triples, scoring once and driving in two. Jhon Goncalves was 2-for-4 and scored once. Matt Koch was 2-for-4 and scored once.
Pitching stars: Nelvin Fuentes struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks. Tyler Jones struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk.
Opposition stars: Aaron Altherr was 2-for-5 with a home run. Cameron Perkins was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring once. Brock Stassi was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Key inning: The second. It was a scoreless tie. Koch and Mike Kvasnicka opened the inning with singles. The next two batters went out, but Levi Michael hit an RBI double and Buxton delivered a two-run triple to give the Miracle a 3-0 lead.
Prospect watch: Aderlin Mejia was 1-for-5 with an RBI. Kennys Vargas was 0-for-3 with a walk and scored once. Kvasnicka was 2-for-4 and scored once.

CEDAR RAPIDS 6, PEORIA 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Batting stars: Travis Harrison was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored once. Joel Licon was 1-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.
Pitching stars: Brett Lee struck out four in five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk. Tim Shibuya struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks. David Hurlbut struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk.
Opposition star: Jacob Wilson was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
Key inning: The seventh. Trailing 2-0, the Kernels exploded for six. Niko Goodrum and Jorge Polanco opened the inning with doubles to put Cedar Rapids on the board. A single and a sacrifice fly tied the score. A hit batsman loaded the bases, Licon drove in two with a double, and Jonathan Murphy came through with a two-run single to make it 6-2.
Prospect watch: Polanco was 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Adam Brett Walker was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Max Kepler was 1-for-4 and scored once.

JOHNSON CITY 3, ELIZABETHTON 1 IN JOHNSON CITY

Batting star: Rory Rhodes was 2-for-4.
Pitching star: Hein Robb struck out eight in 7.1 innings, giving up three runs on nine hits and a walk.
Opposition stars: Dailyn Martinez pitched six shutout innings, allowing one hits and two walk with two strikeouts. Zach Loraine struck out four in two shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks. Kenneth Peoples-Walls was 2-for-4 and scored once.
Key inning: The fourth. The Cardinals led 1-0. Peoples-Walls led off the inning with a single and Ronnierd Garcia followed with a two-run homer to make it 3-0.

Opposition stars: Randy Perez struck out five in five innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk. Bryan Hudson was 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs. Aneudis Peralta was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring twice and driving in one.
Key inning: The fifth. The Red Sox led 2-1. Deiner Lopez singled, stole second, and scored on a Peralta double. Singles by Joseph Monge and Hudson resulted in two more runs to make the score 5-1.

Batting stars: Frank Encarnacion was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Antonio Tovar was 1-for-2 and scored once.
Pitching stars: Jose Ramirez pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits and no walks with three strikeouts. Jhon Silva pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and no walks with one strikeout.

Key inning: The sixth. Leading 2-1, the Twins got an insurance run on a single, a walk, a bunt, and an infield grounder.

DSL WHITE SOX 3, DSL TWINS 2 AT WHITE SOX (GAME 2—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Pitching star: Elias Villasana struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.
Opposition stars: Hanleth Otano was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple. Joxelier Garcia was 2-for-3 with a home run.
Key inning: The fourth. The White Sox trailed 2-1. With two out and a runner on first, Luis Polanco singled and Jhan De Jesus hit a two-run double to put the White Sox ahead.

Prospect watch: Frank Encarnacion was 1-for-1 with an RBI but was removed from the game in the first inning.
