Games of May 6

Another fine game for Stephen Gonsalves.  Anthony Marzi makes a successful AA debut.  The Miracle hangs on for a win.  Bryan Sammons pitches well for the Kernels.

ROCHESTER 6, LEHIGH VALLEY 1 IN ROCHESTER

Taylor Featherston hit a three-run double in a four-run first inning.  Stephen Gonsalves and Nick Anderson took it from there.

Jake Cave was 2-for-4.  Gonsalves struck out nine in 6.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk.  His ERA is 0.63.  Anderson pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.  His ERA is also 0.63.

MOBILE 2, CHATTANOOGA 1 IN MOBILE

The BayBears scored single runs in the first and seventh.  The lone Lookouts run score in the ninth.  They had the bases loaded with none out.  A strikeout made one out, and Nick Gordon then hit a sacrifice fly/double play, with a run scoring but Alex Robles being caught off base to end the game.

Chattanooga had just two hits.  Nick Gordon was 1-for-3 and is batting .337.  Alex Perez was 0-for-2 with a walk and is batting .333.  Anthony Marzi struck out eight in six innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk, in his AA debut.

FORT MYERS 5, JUPITER 4 IN FORT MYERS

The Miracle scored two in the eighth to take a 5-1 lead.  The Hammerheads came back to score three in the ninth and had the bases loaded when the game ended.

Taylor Grzelakowski was 2-for-4 with a double and is batting .313.  Joe Cronin was 2-for-4 and is batting .323.  Mark Contreras was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs.  Clark Beeker pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits and a walk and striking out three.  His ERA is 2.42.  Calvin Faucher pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

WEST MICHIGAN 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Dylan Rosa hit a two-run homer in the seventh to give the Whitecaps a 2-1 lead.  They added two more in the ninth.

The Kernels had five hits.  Jordan Gore was 1-for-4 and is batting .333.  Bryan Sammons pitched 6.1 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk and striking out two.
