ROCHESTER 2, PAWTUCKET 0 IN ROCHESTER (GAME 1--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)
Batting stars:  Evan Bigley was 1-for-2 with a walk and scored once.
Pitching stars:  P. J. Walters pitched a complete game, giving up only two hits and a walk and striking out five.  both hits were singles.
Opposition stars:  Chris Hernandez allowed two runs on six hits and three walks in five innings.
Key inning:  The fourth.  In a scoreless tie, with runners on first and third and one out, Ray Olmedo delivered a two-run double for the only runs of the game.
PAWTUCKET 8, ROCHESTER 1 IN ROCHESTER (GAME 2--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)
Batting stars:  Clete Thomas was 1-for-2 with two walks.
Pitching stars:  Daniel Turpen gave up one hit in a scoreless inning.  Kyle Gibson pitched five innings of one-hit, shutout ball before tiring in the sixth.  His numbers for the game are three runs on three hits and four walks in five-plus innings.
Opposition stars:  Jeremy Hazelbaker with a double, a walk, and two RBIs.  Graham Godfrey allowed one run on three hits and four walks in three innings.
Key inning:  The sixth.  Trailing 1-0, the Red Sox scored five times.  They loaded the bases on a walk and two singles off Gibson.  A walk, a single, a two-run double by Jose Iglacias, and a ground out made it 5-1.  The walk, single, and double came off Luis Perdomo.
PORTLAND 8, NEW BRITAIN 7 IN PORTLAND
Batting stars:  Nathan Hanson was 4-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Josmil Pinto was 2-for-4 with two walks and an RBI.
Pitching stars:  Edgar Ibarra struck out three and walked one in 1.2 scoreless, hitless innings.  Michael Tonkin pitched a scoreless inning.
Opposition stars:  Michael Almanzar was 2-for-4 with two doubles and scored twice.  Shannon Wilkerson was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.  Alberto Rosario was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Key inning:  The eighth.  Trailing 8-5, the Rock Cats mounted a comeback.  Two walks, a ground out, and a wild pitch plated one run, and a Hanson single scored another.  A walk put runners on first and second with two out, but Daniel Ortiz lined out to short to end the threat.
PALM BEACH 6, FORT MYERS 5 (10 INNINGS)
Batting stars:  Lance Ray was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Kyle Knudson was 2-for-3 with two walks and a two-run homer.  Michael Gonzales was 2-for-5 with a walk and scored once.
Pitching stars:  Miguel Munoz gave up three hits in three shutout innings.  Corey Williams gave up two hits in two shutout innings.
Opposition stars:  Jonathan Rodriguez was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, scoring twice.  Colin Walsh was 3-for-5 with three RBIs.  Matt Williams was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.
Key inning:  The tenth.  With the score tied at five, Rodriguez led off the inning with a walk-off home run off Nelvin Fuentes.
CEDAR RAPIDS 3, BURLINGTON 2 IN BURLINGTON
Batting stars:  Drew Leachman was 3-for-3 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Travis Harrison was 2-for-4 with a double.
Pitching stars:  Tyler Duffey struck out six in seven innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk.  David Hurlbut struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Opposition stars:  Brandon Love pitched 5.1 innings, allowing an unearned run on six hits and a walk.
Key inning:  The seventh.  The Kernels trailed 2-1.  Leachman led off with a triple, but the next two men struck out.  Byron Buxton then walked and stole second and Niko Goodrum came through with a two-run single to give Cedar Rapids the lead.
